I still live with my parents and am expected to help around the house. I don't actually do that much, but I help clean both inside and outside when asked. We used to have to help clean the pool when we had one as well. I know quite a few people live in their own places etc but were you or are you required to help around your parents' house? Make dinners, do the washing/ironing?

I help around the house when asked, otherwise I would just do the dishes, keep the dining table clear and try to keep my room tidy (I share a room with my brother and he is really messy and lazy).

I used to be really lazy and just empty the dishwasher like once a week

now I do loads out of my own choice really, I'm never asked to do anything. Mowing the lawn is my fav I'm like an old man

When I lived at home I didn't do a right lot, mum had a cleaner so was pointless doing any housework as such.. I would empty the dishwasher every... some... mornings on occasion.

and would attempt to keep my room clean to please my mum, but that mainly involved throwing everything on the floor behind my bed where it couldn't be seen from the doorway.

Now I've been moved out for coming up to a year, I do everything (such a hard life) as I've learned that if I let things build up like I did before, I'd have to spend one of my days off cleaning, so now I've trained myself to clean up as I go. #adult

I've literally just moved into my own apartment, after spending my entire life with my mother picking up after me am afraid to say am at a loss, The washing machine is fat to confusing the Microwave is the only thing that makes any sense and now all am waiting for is for the TV i reluctantly put up on the wall my self.. to fall down and shatter into a million peaces .. my Advise to anybody is Stay AT HOME as long as possible.!

When I lived with them we had two big cleaning days a week
Thursday we had upstairs cleaning where my sister and I had to clean our rooms, dust them, change sheets
then Friday was downstairs and I used to just clean the windows once every 2 weeks

I was doing dishes by age 5 and laundry at 6... It helped shape me into the person I am today and helped me have a good work ethic. Do it right the first time or don't do it at all, basically. I'm glad my parents taught me how to have a good work ethic. My dad is a dead beat now, but you get the idea.

I used to try help out as much as I could and was normally always put on charge of hoovering the stairs, which has to be the worst job in the house as we used to have like 500 stairs and the Hoover wire was never long enough!!

I always clean up after myself and do as much as I can to help my mum, cause why not be helpful when I live here too.

When I use to live at my parents when they were still living I always helped with indoors work but mostly outdoors work which I didn't mind at all as I enjoy helping around. Now that I live in my own house with my husband I still help around but indoors since he does mostly the outdoors :).

I empty the dishwasher, do the cats litterboxes and feed them, make my bed and clean my room and help with rounding up the garbage on garbage night, my brother usually does the rest. nd my mom likes doing things her own way so usually cleans by herself
