A Russian airliner has crashed in central Sinai with more than 200 people on board, the office of Egypt's prime minister has confirmed.

The Airbus A-321 had just taken off from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, on its way to the Russian city of St Petersburg.

There were conflicting reports about the fate of the plane, some suggesting it had disappeared over Cyprus.
Most of the passengers are said to be Russian tourists.

The plane is operated by the Russian airline Kogalymavia. Latest reports say it is carrying 217 passengers and seven crew.
The Russian aviation authority Rosaviatsiya said in a statement that flight 9268 left Sharm el-Sheikh at 06:51 Moscow time (03:51 GMT) and was due into St Petersburg's Pulkovo airport at 12:10.

ISIS now claiming it was them lol

ISIS will claim anything but considering Russia are bombing the fuck out of them that would only make it worse for ISIS if that claims to be true. To be quite honest, do they even have the weapons to shoot down an aircraft from 31,000ft?

My question would be: What camera are they using to see a plane at 30,000ft. I'm going to go with a fake to be honest.

Flights from Sharm el-Sheikh to UK delayed amid concerns Russian jet was brought down by "explosive device" - No 10

Hmm, must have some sort of source regarding why they "think" that.

If it was Islamic State then prepare for the wrath of the Russian bear.... you don't hit Russia and her interests and expect to get away with it.

Russia will be furious if it was an ISIS explosive device.

Bit of an update, flights can some what resume but restrictions are in place on the return flights:

Airlines will start to bring back Britons from Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh on Friday, Downing Street has said.

Easyjet, Monarch, Thomson and British Airways will all run UK-bound flights, with passengers facing a series of "additional security measures".

Passengers will only be able to carry hand luggage on board, with hold baggage to be transported separately.

Thousands of Britons remain in the Red Sea resort after the UK suspended all flights to and from it.

The government announced its decision to suspend flights on Wednesday, after fresh information emerged about the downing of a Russian airliner at the weekend.

Prime Minister David Cameron says it was now "more likely than not" that a terrorist bomb caused the crash, which killed all 224 on board.

if it was real then all news outlets would have shown it. plus someone randomly filming a plane going down in the middle of a desert? er yes fake.
