I was thinking about this today for some reason and i found it interesting. have you learnt things from being on Habbox where as if you had never joined you would not have learnt what you had???

for example i learnt sososo much when i joined the graphics department from not using photoshop ever to knowing how to use it pretty well

Habbox has taught me (that):

Some people take the internet way too seriously
People loving bitching about you because they have nothing better to do or are jealous
Rumours aren't always bad
No one likes moderators
Being gay is ok
About Sex
One comment has the potential to do a great deal of damage
to never perform sex acts on a webcam
to stay away from the kiddie fiddlers because they're in denial
that it's easy to fake your identity should you wish to get an award at the end of the year
nobody likes change
certain users will never change
people don't realise how hard it is to impress everyone
you need to think carefully about who you trust
most people in the UK have stupid bed times and go to bed at like stupid o'clock even when it's a school night
people change
being two-faced gets your far
being polite, nice and professional all the time is actually really really hard

AND FINALLY

Habbox has taught me that everyone is different and regardless of how they act online - there's always something they aren't telling you!

People will disagree and probably think I'm a ***** but I've gone ahead and been totally honest. I have also mentioned no names nor will I mention any name other than my own.

Dunno about learning things directly through Hx but obv having been here forever there's a lot I've learned (socially, intellectually, artistically, and whatever else) since being here

the difference between your/you're
a lot about mental health (my own and others)
also quite a lot about empathy overall
seeing different viewpoints etc

seeing different viewpoints etc

Defo this. Started seeing things from other peoples perspective.

I've learned how to use the forum..kinda.

A lot about trusting people.

Also learned what lots of words mean that I could have lived without knowing IDrew;

People will make judgement without knowing you cause everyone bitches!

That people are upset a lot more than I would have considered normal about things that don't matter an awful lot in the grand scheme of things.

That everybody has SOMETHING about them.

Everybody loves to talk about eachother.

People like finding problems but sadly are less enthusiastic when it comes to solutions.

Loads of people are unbelievably stupid.

I probably learned more useful stuff from runescape. Who knew bronze was made from copper and tin? Amazing.

Inseriousity.

I probably already had these skills but Habbox improved them (so I've learned what works and what doesn't):

debates - constructing arguments etc.
standing up for what you believe in but more importantly choosing your battles
managing a team and juggling different personalities
dealing with office politics (just curious, anyone who's worked in an office ever made Habbox parallels? The stickler for the rules? omg hey chris. the management speak, the weird bureaucracy, the cliques, the bitching, the segregated departments that rarely communicate with each other even though they're right next to each other, that sort of thing)
dealing with trolls
investigating complaints (lmao it's my full time job now)
making tough decisions
planning events and being creative
thinking of ideas to improve systems rather than just moaning (and if the change is fairly minor, just changing the system anyway and explaining the change rather than waiting for approval as it's easier that way - see re: office politics).
The EU sucks

Haha, love it!

But you're dead right on the second point. The amount of people both on Habbo and Habbox who jumped the gun without even knowing anything about me, and then proceeded to stir the pot is absolutely laughable. Jokes on them, I'm mad popular, and they probably breathe through their mouths when they sleep. Grim.

I second Joe; - people are k****.

It's definitely helped to widen my vocabulary. Definitely taught me how to be safeish on the internet and also that someone who you think is your friend will 9/10 have no issue of stabbing you in the back.
