really annoying when there's like 5-6 days to plan 20 questions and 20mins of entertainment. it should be a permanent fixture on the timetable at 7pm each week, not have to be booked every time before some greedy events staff takes the slot.

yes it's stale, yes it needs revamping, yes bla bla bla. that's up to the community team to figure out. for now it needs to at least HAPPEN.

If you mean me, I apologise. I forgot about the tradition and had no idea that the SNQ was in the wrong slot today. I had no intention of being greedy.

It's fixed now, though.

Just a heads up too, the SNQ has been added to the calendar for both 6pm and 7pm next Saturday (21st) unless you're planning on doing a double! :P

Also its eerie going onto the main site and there being no music playing at half 6 LOL I normally expect to scare myself to death when music starts playing

So it's booked in the events panel, and not been hosted again?

We don't need an SNQ now, Kasabian & Elegenace's pre-SNQ quiz at the HxHD was excellent.

If I recall I saw someone saying a few days ago that they were hosting it? Not sure who it was, but they were help desk staff.

If it's not been done within the hour I can do a Team Quiz and give out a month of VIP to each team member (like 3 members per team? 40 questions) if you guys would like

I'm just in from work so you'll have to bear with while I settle in :)

From what I gather the host pulled out very last minute, looking into it now! Elegance is hosting some qs atm and we'll get something sorted, sorry everyone :)

Surely it would have been booked in a thread or something who was going to be hosting it this week? I'm sure there used to be a thread in the HxHD staff forum, like a calendar as to who would host.

Maybe there should be a backup system in place for when the host doesn't turn up or pulls out at the last minute to prevent this happening in the future? Like have the questions ready to go or something so that any member of staff would be able to take over at the last minute if needed.

Habbox really can't afford to get the basics wrong like this if it wants to grow and improve. :(

-----

Okay apparently the host "told someone" she wasn't able to host this week who now claims to have forgotten. This kind of stuff needs to be done in a thread so that it's available for other staff/management to see so they can deal with it appropriately and find cover.

Can we have it in Danube's dirty duck pub? :(

Either way a team quiz sounds like a good substitute :)

Someone did confirm they would do it. They even wrote the questions whilst behind the Help desk. It's a shame that someone pulled out at last minute and you guys couldnt have SNQ.
I agree that there should be a thread in the staff forums for someone to book it, I'll make sure Management get to work on that Martin

Awesome! :D I'm sure there definitely used to be a thread, and it just means that staff have to post there to organise who is hosting rather than relying on conversations on habbo/skype and there being the potential for there to be confusion or even staff saying they have cancelled when they might not have etc. Making them book/cancel via a thread prevents any of this happening. It's just good to have it in clear view for all the staff/management to see so everyone is in the loop! :D I'm pretty sure the senior staff used to take care of the bookings etc, making sure it was all organised.

It's also handy for management/seniors to not have to worry about finding hosts last minute as hopefully it should be organised quite far in advance :D I do think that some kind of backup could be thought of too, like having a question bank or something that people can access if they need to host at the last minute.

Team Quiz will be hosted at 9 guys. The team members can have normal VIP or a month of Children in Need VIP, their choice!

finding a backup for every single week will be difficult; it was hard enough finding one host when i was senior, people just cba nowadays

there was a thread and it was used but became less used because it became to be more of an on skype sort of thing - thread became a bit useless

elegance hosted (and has hosted for the past few weeks) a pre snq thing and it's been cool - she doesn't plan for it either and gives her own prize, it just shows the qs don't need to be too fancy

is the snq community hosting still a thing?

There were staff in the room though for the duration that could have hosted though, I don't get it! It's not even like the snq takes up a full hour, quite often it's done and dusted in 20 minutes! :O

If people "cba" then they should just quit instead of staying in the position and not actually wanting to improve or help habbox to do well community wise. It should be a team effort to ensure that basic things like this are organised efficiently. If there is an issue with finding helpdesk staff to host the snq then maybe events staff or management should step in.

Personally, I always prefered things to be done through a proper devoted thread than a skype chat as things can easily get 'lost' in a skype chat and it's just more organised to have a proper devoted thread in the relevant staff forum so that if someone wants to know who is hosting SNQ this week they can simply check the thread rather than searching through skype chats.

It should never become a point where members of management have no idea who is meant to be hosting. Cancelling via the thread is also a lot more official and certain than doing it last minute in a skype chat or by just telling one manager.

I agree Elegance has done a fab job with her pre-snq quizzes, and it just shows how easy it is to come up with questions quite quickly when needed! It's done now anyway but I do think lessons can be learnt from this to prevent it happening in the future.

Glad to see an alternative has been come up with for tonight though, that's really nice of management to do! :)

I think maybe people don't find SNQ fun anymore? I mean the team quiz that happened today seemed like a good replacement. Although from what I've been reading it's hard enough to get 20 questions let alone 40. But a team quiz each week could be better because I think it's something different and I'd say more fun.

Although I didn't attend, anyone who attended.. was it any good?

People seemed quite pleased with the Team Quiz & it would be definitely something I would love hosting once a month!

Also, briefly discussed in the room that it would be great to do a Staff Team Quiz (which I was told used to be done!), each department gets three of their best team members and they battle it out down in the future Dirty Duck Pub ;) and users could support departments and the winning departments win a prize and their supporters do too! Would be nice to hear if anybody else is interested in us doing this?

Enjoyed the team quiz, just need to pick my team mates more wisely ;l Rocklinaz & Nick

Only complaint would be the specific questions(like doctor who and stuff like that), alot of us don't/have never watched it. Perhaps split it into 4 rounds, 10 questions per round. Like TV, Music, General Knowledge and then Habbo(x)?

I did a quiz like this during HxSS - my bumper SNQ and did prizes for each section as well as overall, was really enjoyable!

I'd also recommend hosting the quiz in a different room(dirty duck pub ye ;)), was a nightmare with people asking for help whilst we're trying to do a quiz haha

It seems that maybe SNQ could be changed around a little? like could maybe just do it in teams or something? idk.

I mean maybe SNQ would be better if they gave you like a list of categories to choose from and have questions based on that category and people in the room can pick what category they want. That's like getting people more involved in the Quiz rather than just answering the questions. Maybe that would make it more fun? Idk. I'm not sure if it would work but thought I'd post anyway to see what others thought.

I'd like the HxHD SNQ to continue, it's tradition and has been for years! But a monthly/bi-monthly team quiz would be good too :)

I was trying to deal with the people requesting help over whisper or messaging as I didn't want my messages to them to get lost and the to get confused or felt
like we were ignoring them.

I feel like the team quiz was quite fresh and everyone seemed to have fun :)

Hi guys, I would like to apologize for the slight confusion on Saturday night. As my self and cerys both work full time jobs and we both work most weekends its seemed as if there was some slight miss communication which led to the SNQ slot not being filled however going forward we plan to slightly re-vapm SNQ and ensure it is carried out on Saturday night every week without fail!

I would love to get some feedback and input about how you guys would like to see SNQ ran and what it should feature?

Maybe kellys new Team quiz idea would make it more interactive for all?

SO any ideas or suggestions please PM me them!

cheers Pete.

Don't think there should be a team quiz or if there is make it as an additional one during week and leave a quiz on Saturday too. We want new people to join, they might not like the idea of finding a team when a lot of people who join in the quiz have already established friends and will team with them. It could do with being revamped a bit though.

I agree with Sam. I do love the idea of a Team Quiz, and though I was only there for it briefly, it did seem to have the people in the room captivated, and it sounds like everyone genuinely enjoyed it. But I also feel like a team quiz would discourage new members or members who aren't on the forum to play. It's not a huge problem if our folks are welcoming and allow people to join their team, but if that team remains capped at 3 people (which I understand the logic behind), people are liable to be left on their own and teamless for lack of a better word.

Now, that will no doubt happen on any night if the numbers just don't work out, but at least if there is still the current SNQ or a similar free-for-all quiz, the chances of others/newbies getting involved will likely be much higher.

there's a dedicated thread for managers on the revamp of snq where people have stated that they want other departments involved in the weekly saturday event so I felt like my hands were tied a little as to where to go with the quiz itself and what to change about it since other plans were still ongoing when I was with hxhd. Team quizzes definitely work better and it's REALLY not difficult to write 20-50 questions a week...

I don't see a problem with managers having that was one of their weekly responsibilities - to think up x questions each for the snq? I can see that working and thus taking the pressure off one person having to come up with all of them!
