View Full Version : Adult and Child Names

I had a mini dilemma in my head earlier, being that my name is Hannah - and I've never seen my name as an adult name.

I mean, what person in any environment says 'Hannah can do that' or something, and pictures an adult in their head? It's such a child-like name.

Maybe I should just change my name when I get above 25 to Gladys or something.

Anyway, anyone else have a similar name or anyone they know with a name that's childlike?

I either have to change my name or there's gotta be someone going around wiping out Hannahs before they get old because it just isn't right.

It's okay, I'm scared of getting old xD

Jennifer I can see as an older name, I'm sure I know of a few 'Jen's.

think im fine

Yeah, it's a pretty adaptable name.

I know a few aged people who are becca's, beckies and rebeccas etc. Seems to be fine.

Maybe it's because no one calls their children Hannah anymore, so it just doesn't seem to age. D:

Shorten it to Anna, boom adult name.

My name doesn't really work with any age cos it's so odd (or at least it is in England )

Can't really shorten Joe, people tend to call me Joe-Joe for some reason though..

Samantha is a bit weird? You would think because it's been common in previous years it would sound like an old name, but it doesn't to me; it just sounds like a generic name (although not as common as I first thought it was). I would say Sammy is the child alternative of my name whereas Sam could be seen as the older one, like Uncle Sam in USA.

I know some older women called Kellie and spelt that way too >:). Like the actress off Eastenders ha. I think I'll be okay?

I'd say there's nothing to worry about though. I mean all these new bizarre names out recently that celebrities name their children lol. Think of that when they're older. Probably be normal by then
