Diseases/problems you're scared of

I was having this conversation in work the other day and I was wondering if anyone's scared of getting any kind of diseases and why?

Personally I'm not scared of most serious illnesses because I'm not scared of dying or death (how morbid, not saying I'm suicidal I'm just not scared of it), but I guess really painful ones I wouldn't want to get at all.

I would hate to have any kind of illness that takes away my ability to work as productively as I am now or something that would affect my mental capability, that would devastate me, but I can't name like, particular diseases?

There's apparently a swine flu case not too far from here at the moment and a few people said they were panicking but it's not that big a deal any more apparently, it's just like normal flu. I don't really get this mass hysteria :(

I've never really considered any diseases I'm scared of, more methods of dying that I'm scared of :o

I guess something which took away my dignity yknow like made me incapable of using the toilet on my own etc, having an illness like that must be awful

i read about an autistic girl who never pooped n died. u also hear about people not pooping and they puke up the poop instead :) eat ur fibre peeps xo

just anything very quick like you've got __ days/months left. or one that takes away my fertility would devestate me prob.

I am scared of anything, any pain etc i always thinks its more serious.. so i am petrified of everything, which only started when having my little boy. so yeah got a cold stay away from me please aha

Anything which will essentially kill me immediately, like a brain aneurysm or something (or am I thinking brain haemorrhage?).
Don't care about any other disease/illness as such because if it becomes really bad, I will just end it myself.

My cousin had cancer and was hospitalised from finding out and dying so she had no chance to "jump" she died within months.

Aneurysm is a bulging artery then it haemorrhages.

I hate throwing up so anything that makes me throw up, also anything that has no cure.

I'm actually not that scared of cancer, there is some decent research behind it and either way it's basically inevitable in humans so there is no point worrying about something you can't help but develop =)

dementia and alzheimers since it runs on both sides of my family and ive seen how horribleit can get

I think dementia for me too definitely, terrifies me to think that I might ever lose myself to the point where I don't even know who my loved ones are
