Easter Cancelled or..?

HxEE - I know there's something in the pipeline as a thread was created when I was still in management, but it's pretty much Easter now (starting today and going for the next 3/4 days) and yet there's nothing stickied in Habbox Announcements, nothing in the Community Notice Board, no forum notice.. has that been cancelled? If an event is running shouldn't it be promoted at least 2 days leading up to the event starting and stating what will happen and what's up for grabs?

Forum Skin, Icons, VIP - I know Sam is still relatively new so this is not blaming her for this. Where's the Easter Skin, forum icons, VIP? Like there's nothing??? So is it safe to say Easter is cancelled this year? Surely someone can request/make 1 or 2 little icons and maybe activate the Forum skin at the very least?

If everything is ready to go, aren't you cutting it a bit fine? How are people going to participate if they're given no information about an event. Even a notice saying "Easter is coming stay tuned" or something would've gained a bit of attention.

I'm pretty sure everything starts on the 28th, which is 3 days away, so there's still a day to play with if you want 2 days notice ;)
also, things were requested and have been made when I was still manager.

Same I asked about hxee a few days ago and was told it's all completely ready to go and is starting on monday yay

Because Easter's so early this year we decided to run it after the actual holiday - as that's when most of the schools are off in the UK and we didn't want to run something while the majority of our members are busy 8-3 during the day.

As for forum stuff it's been discussed & sorted and should be all released today :)

HxEE is all ready and set to go, planned on releasing thread tonight at 12am as it's starts on 28th - 3rd, so it begins day after Easter, which matches the storyline too!! (love storylines)

Shame really that we're using skins and donator from 2013, seams like a very lazy option to me. However, nice to see we're doing some events and room layouts, i'll give you that.

I'm pretty sure that we've used that skin every year since its release (similar to Christmas, Autumn etc. we generally use the same one, it's just the name that has the year in which would make it seem a bit lazy), members have liked it in the past and it's a cute skin! As for the VIP there were a couple of options to go for, but that one was more fitting to Easter than the other one.

I understand what you mean skin wise, but I think a change of skins would be nice if you know what I mean? I understand it's a nice skin, and looking around we're the only fansite to actually do anything for easter this year, makes it good. However, I just think a new skin would be nice to be honest, something different, a change. I understand about the VIPs etc and that's good, but yeah, not slagging anyone off, just saying a new skin would be nice x

The Easter Skin is old, but for the amount of time it gets used every year I can see why a new one has not been made since. There are far more important things for potential coders to work on :P

As someone who used to choose a Monday start date all the time, I'd have chosen this Monday coming too although I did like the idea of starting on the Friday. I'm surprised it's only a week this year, I'm sure it's usually two. Not that I care either way, I cba taking part lol. Happy Easter everyone :D

Was one week last year too but I think 2014 and before it was 2 weeks :P

They tend to die out a lot after the first week anyway I think xD

Inseriousity.; it used to be two weeks, but most tournaments/bigger events apart from HxSS usually die out before then, I remember Shoned/Kelly (I can't remember which) changing them to 10 days as it didn't get stale as quickly!

i always held my big events for 10 days, even as comps manager. always felt it was a good number since it's longer than a week, but not long enough that people got fed up. the few exceptions i made where i changed them to either one week or two weeks proved that point since people started complaining (well people always complained anyway, just more people complained when i changed it, i guess :P)

I quite like that, simple colour modification over the current Easter Skin predominantly with a slight increase on the forum category headers. Mostly a change of the "forumhome" section of Styles Manager if I recall correctly.
