View Full Version : Idea for the Help Desk

So I was bored earlier today on Habbo when I decided I wanted to visit the new-Habbo only lounge. I created a new email and a new account to get in the room. I noticed that there was a teleport linking the room with the Habbox Help Desk. When I went through the door and entered the room, I immediately got the idea. After entering the room, I had noticed that none of the help desk staff were welcoming me to the help desk room or asking me if I had any questions. I do believe there is absolutely nothing wrong with this (and they are totally fine to keep talking with friends already inside the room) because they do not know whether the users in the doorway are old users just coming to hang out, any user asking a question, or a brand-new user coming from the new-Habbo only lounge. However, this idea I have is solely to target those brand new users coming into the help desk room. What this idea entails is simple. When the new user enters the room through the teleport, they will walk onto that space in front of the teleport automatically; like any other teleport in Habbo. On that space, a wired tile should be placed in which when the user steps on it, it will send a wired telephrase-like message to the users sitting behind the Habbox Help Desk saying, "A new Habbo user from the new-Habbo only lounge has entered the room." Upon receiving the wired message, the Habbox Help Desk employee will look in the doorway for the new-Habbo (they will tell because they usually have an Achievement Score of 300 or less) and welcome/greet/introduce/offer help to them.

An additional sentence that could be added into the wired message for the staff could be, "Be sure to give the new Habbo a warm-welcome to the Hotel and introduce them to the Habbox community and the forums." But obviously the Help Desk staff are smart enough to know this so that one sentence of "A new Habbo user from the new-Habbo only lounge has entered the room." is perfectly OK by itself.

What do you guys think?

yes why not, better yet is to remove the need for a message and have an actual door in the next layout to get rid of the user enter's teleport

Good idea.

You could just save creds and tell staff to pay attention to the users entering the room, it's not difficult to click on them and identify the fact they're new and proceed to welcome them in to the room. Having wired doing that makes for lazy staff! it's not like it's packed and it's really difficult to monitor who's coming in and out.

Yeah, I like the idea but I do think Staff should welcome new users anyway - even if they're old and have been on habbo for years, it's still nice to be welcomed

I mean, If I went into a room to ask a question and got a welcome, I'd automatically assume they're wanting to talk to me so yeah
Plus there are people who come in to the desk from time to time who have been playing Habbo for a while and have a question or two

Nice idea with the wired though - I do think peeps should be welcomed more because it shows our kind side as a fansite

A solution for a problem that really shouldn't exist. If people are behind the desk they shouldn't really just be speaking to friends, that defeats the point of being behind the desk. The problem doesn't just lie with welcoming new users either, but ignoring users when they're asking for help or when a user is quite obviously breaking the rules.

If wired is going to be used to greet users, you might as well just create a giant FAQ and be rid of HxHD altogether.

He doesn't mean wired to greet users!
He means wired to tell the staff behind the desk that a new Habbo from the new user lounge has entered the room so they know

Oh yeah oops. That last point is irrelevant in that case.

can do this but i wouldn't trust absently with wired!!

two options are:

have a bot in the room that is wired to only greet the new users, this would be good for alerting both staff and others but would it feel like staff are only chatting to new users because they are new?

and the one posted above where wired would tell staff through private message, though this would be more of a pain to wire.

this isn't allowed lol, the habbo staff have told kelly off before because people were hanging out in the room which is for new users only so it isn't really an option to have the door there when users can go in as they wish.

everyone who has a room linking to that room has hidden their teleporter too

I actually like the idea at times it can be difficult to monitor the room and chat and offer help at the same time, HxHD- Staff Do not have to welcome new users to the room its not stated in the hand book, HOWEVER it is expected from experienced members of the team and this would be a great tool to use for educating new team members on how they can be more aware of new users entering the room.

I Really like it !

worked fine in that horrible oversized white room after christmas, door was inaccessible and new users weren't piled in with the regulars

Why not just have a welcome to Habbox Helpdesk message when they enter the room atleast that way they will know, for all your information i welcome users often but i agree alot of staff dont this could be something to improove.

Can you even set up something where one person triggers a message for someone else? With most wired stuff it's the triggering user who gets the effect I thought. But then hey for the sake of 1 extra box in the stack a basic welcome message added to the user enters/user teles thing wouldn't do any harm - it's a one-off on entering that regulars won't be hampered by, and new people aren't going to be put off by an automated message because y'know... they're new

could probably match furni to position (move the wired box) and trigger a message to anyone sitting on the seats

Hi everyone!! I just thought I would let you guys know that we have put this wired in place in the current layout. When a user comes through the special teleport, wired announces to the room and says "Hi x! Welcome to the Help Desk! Pop yourself to the bar for help" (or something like that) so everyone can see :) Hopefully we get everyone welcoming the new users
