This has happened to me 3 times now. I'm now on a 7 day ban because of it.

Yes we use skype for fansite business. Habbo don't like you talking about skype. But it seems people in the helpdesk are purposely reporting people who talk about skype.

This hasnt just happened to me it happened to @RuthOnToast (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=120816) too.

People who report eachother for these things are just immature and want to get others banned.

Habbo is like nazi germany now. If you even have a small discussion about skype or anything you will get punished.

rant over

To be fair to the people in the helpdesk who you're accusing of being immature, habbo does often pick up on saying stuff like skype, kik, facebook etc automatically, so you can't ever be 100% that you're being reported by other users in that sense.

I'd just recommend that if you're going to talk about stuff that'll get you banned, talk about it over whisper. Then if you do end up being banned you know it's an auto one and it stops anyone from being accused of anything

at the end of the day though if you don't wanna be banned don't talk about that stuff - there's always gonna be people who report, whether they're hx members or not, so it's just best off not risking it

It is definitely something that habbo picks up on and as soon as you mention certain keywords, like Cerys said. I would imagine it is habbo's system rather than anyone actually reporting someone. Saying the word Skype is a big no no as you quite quickly get in trouble for it, especially with habbo's new warning system it really is best to keep away from saying anything that could get you in for trouble.

that isn't how it works. I never use specific words because they are filtered. Habbo does not pick up on stuff when you say "sky". someone has to purposely report you and then a moderator will look over what you said.

Even if that is or isn't how it works, what's honestly the point? Like Kelly mentioned with the new warning system nothing's worth the gamble anymore, you're close to getting a 30day ban as it is now then not far off a permanent one.
Just don't do it, it's not worth it

if you have absolutely no other choice and you must say it then use whisper to eliminate the accusation part of it if it does go downhill fast

Habbo mods get alerted as soon as someone says sky or sk!
then they check logs and by law have to take action

I very highly doubt anyone would go to the hassle of reporting you for very little reason ;p

oo this is getting juicy

but yes as above have said, it may not even be anyone in particular, it may be their automated system, which is then looked at by moderators. best not to attempt to make enemies here, it don't end well if you start accusing people without proof.

To be totally honest, I've been muted automatically for saying "sky" and I know I wasn't reported because I was only in the room with one other person, and it still happened. I think, although you've got the wrong end of the stick, you just need to watch what you say on Habbo as they can be really strict with what people say. It's like joking you're underage - they will automatically ban you because their bots don't have the ability to read the rest of the chat, just that one line when you, say, joked you were 11 years old. Have you ever thought you could be getting reported for different reasons? That's not me accusing you of anything, just perhaps giving you another reason as to why this is still happening to you. Just as a heads up too; make sure you let your manager know asap as you are on a trial and they'll accept your circumstances have changed and give you an extended trial! :)

probably going to actually get reported now for complaining about it

Inseriousity.

Not entirely wrong, this does happen sadly.
Despite that, the only way they can't report you is if you try not to give them ammo. :P

Why not just call Skype in the helpdesk SKIM? Skype IM? The mods may clue onto it but their automated systems certainly won't be able to.

Meh, I doubt the mods will get wise to it. Skype was called blue dragon in the help desk for ages by some people and it was always fine.

So yeah, I reccomend you all agree on a word that means skype but looks totally innocent to the mods and then you should be fine.

But surely you can't really complain that much about getting banned for breaking one of habbos rules? Thats how it works...

I agree it's not your fault the rules are crap but you still can't be surprised that you get banned when you break the rules, surely? Even if the ruled are stupid.

It's not really, cause once a ped gets a user on skype they're a lot more at risk than they are in a virtual room.

They have private information that could be obtained as well as the obvious voice/video chats.

Due to the nature and the average player age it makes sense to have such rules, where as if you join something like WoW, RS, etc they won't care for the word Skype because their players are typically a lot older.

Habbo was exposed as a safe haven for predators, of course they're going to have to enforce rules like that to protect the users.

if your dumb enough to have a skype with your real name and an image of yourself and you give it out then that isn't habbos problem its so dumb.

they legally have to take action, if anyone was allowed to just give out all their stuff then Habbo would be in trouble. It probably isn't habbos decision - it's like the underage thing, it's a legal requirement which they need to keep on top of ;p

you're.

I don't expect much from 10-13 year olds when creating Skype accounts.
