Grinding has earned me a surprising amount of money. I'm not really catching anything unless it's REALLY good and I've fought hundreds of pokemon so I've slowly just been earning some cash. I haven't got a bike yet either tho

Fog badge isn't even in the game yet :P to get on the SS Anne you have to talk to Bill at Cerulean Cape (in the house at the end after the bridge) and when you find the captain on there you get the cut HM so that you can get to the Vermilion gym. Moving snorlax comes much later, gotta use caves and tunnels to get around until then

Yeah it's getting moves in first with that gengar which is so difficult - it just used Confuse Ray on me and then I was basically just killing myself :(

I needed a good grass pokemon too and I bought a Breloom because I don't have anything even vaguely Fighting type either and it was a pretty sound choice I think; FlyingJesus picked it out for me and it had good IV stats and a great ability.

Surely you'd do better to keep vulpix and get it up to ninetales and get rid of raticate or persian (raticate tbh) as they're both normal types?

I got naughty nature and technician for ability
I found good moves pretty limiting though but I've got Mach Punch (with technician it's a great move), Seed Bomb, Force Palm and I chose Tackle because of technician but Headbutt means you might make your target flinch so personal opinion yeah.

Bought this for 25k to either use or sell on, I know gyarados isn't a s.attacker but the extra stats from being shiny aswell as sp att+ nature seems okay imo.

Yeah nice IVs on shinies and it's already been speed EV trained, just got to get down to Mt Moon and kill a couple hundred paras now to max out attack :P decided to replace charizard with a magmar I bought with IVs that don't totally suck but ugh effort doing all the training again

ive only defeated misty need to grind now to beat surge. any good grinding spots near lt surges gym?

Is surge the electric guy? Get a diglet or a sandshrew and level them up in diglet cave

For the electric gym I recommend you find a Geodude and level him up to a Graveler, then trade to someone on here and they'll trade back and you've got yourself a Golem. That's what I did and it was great :D

And I can't remember anywhere to grind for the gyms now :( I remember I just did a hell of a lot of fishing and got through millions of magikarp

Damn nice, I'm jealous. victory road grind is boring as fk. still need to get a decent nature breloom which means more training too ugh. What even happens after you beat the elite 4? do you move onto the gold/silver map region or something?

I know, I have a Manectric but I always use it early on for Pidgeot. For Blastoise and Charizard I always save Gengar and Alakazam and just hope for the best. What's your strategy?

Yeah I've been on alot I admit but also at the same time I leave it open on the slim chance someone opens up a item bomb. It is exp yeah, gyarados is currently 73 now, also upgraded my gengar drastically- nature/iv wise.

Yeah, I did lose 3 levels but it was over x4 xp so idc, got back where I was within 15 mins, level 76 and 82th place on weekly leaderboards now lol

I AM SO BLOODY ANNOYED spent the last couple of evenings (not full time obv but when I've been on the game) working out the stat differences between EV trained and non EV trained pokemon, and differences in IVs and natures etc etc etc and found some things that are pretty obvious - higher IVs are nice, EV training helps even more than that even at low levels, and natures can have a pretty important impact especially later in the game.

However I also found something that I've been wondering for a little while about how EV bonuses are added. In the normal games (or at least the ones I've played) it's done where you gain bonuses according to your level as you level up, so you'll get more out of training a pokemon from low levels rather than catching the same dude at a high level. THAT IS NOT HOW IT WORKS HERE APPARENTLY so I have been wasting all sorts of time only trying to procure low level thingies of the type I want to train.

Paying attention to the speed stat here because that's what I was testing (since it's easiest to EV train :P) you can see that training something from low level like my shiny pidgey makes *** ALL DIFFERENCE since every level up completely recalculates the EVs and their bonuses and so the overall stat will be the same no matter what level you start it at as long as the EV training is done and then at least 1 level is gained.

This needed a long rant because I am so annoyed at how much time I've spent slash wasted levelling up everything new that I decide on rather than even looking at the higher level ones ahhhh

Pretty much lol, the grinding is way to long winded so i cba. I'll most likely just train up a team when I get I've done the majority of hoenn or something because by then i'll have a nice amount of cash to afford some decent pokes.

This is what I'm going with atm, not a clue if it's gonna work in the long run as i'm still learning the basics, but it's working so far!


Only issues i'm having so far is lombre's speed (if I increase its speed EV it increases its speed right? The ev/iv stuff confuses me)
and also beedrill is letting me down, I'm only really keeping it in cos of its endeavor move

Strongly suggest getting a gastly from Lavender Town and building it up to gengar, extremely useful pokemon that stays good at all levels and it'll round out the team a bit rather than having 2 bug types

and golem is ok for now but he'll really start to drag you down soon

EVs, IVs, natures, all very important if you're looking to build a real killer team :P vulpix isn't great but it will evolve into ninetales if you chuck a fire stone at it... which costs like 500k RIP so I went for magmar as my fire type after I ditched my charizard

I haven't played for days now. I've just got so bored of grinding all the time - I don't think they've really thought through the level of grinding properly? And because they've removed all other gameplay there's nothing to do except find a patch of grass and keep going.

Not sure what happens in the events but I think it's the usual easter, halloween, christmas etc. Also saw a few pictures on the official twitter which show christmasy screenshots.
