Has anyone encountered a near death experience?

I seem to recall Absently; almost being run down, anyone else had a similar experience or came fairly close to death?

YA i have been run over by a motorbike in a hit and run, cracked open my skull and lost a lot of blood! thank god my aunt was out painting the door so called my uncle and brought me to hospital

a few weeks ago when i was coming home from ireland i was driving and a lorry just randomly swerved beside me into my lane, so i had to swerve into the lane beside me. thank god the road was empty so was all ok!! but if my reactions sucked probs coulda died :O

think thats about it tho!

Either when a car which was speeding (I think) almost ran me over as a kid or getting a rather bad infection after my op. Closest I've ever been, anyway.

I've had loads when I was younger, firstly when I was in a highchair I pushed myself back and toppled it over onto a stone floor, the wooden back of it was appaz completely snapped in half and my mum thought I was dead tehe

then in Greece on my first holiday when i was like 5 my dad was like dont go near the pool i stg, so i walked into the deep end and sat on the bottom cos i couldnt swim, almost drowned cos my parents had no clue where i was for ages

and then in new york i stepped out infront of a taxi which made no effort to stop, and a stranger like yanked me through the air and i was ok x

none recently tho

was bouncing onto my back on my trampoline and my brother bounced at the same time, sending me flying through the air and onto the concrete. if i hit my head id probz be dead. only ended up with a sore and bruised tailbone dunno if it was fractured or what.

also before i could swim my mum took me swimming but i ran out of the changing rooms when she was changing and straight into the deep end :l

When I was 6/7 I had HSP so was in hospital for a while and at one point had complications with my kidneys and it was pretty serious apparently. Although I don't really remember much other than watching teletubbies in hospital and being in a wheelchair for quite a while.

lol when i was younger we would have like 4 people on the trampoline and we would all bounce at the same time to see who would get the boost and when it happened to me i got so scared every time cause i come close to the edge lmao

Atleast twice, first one i probably could have drowned when i was younger. Some kid pushed me in a pool in Spain and i just sank to the bottom. I remember looking up and all i could see was blue before someone dragged me out.

I once heavily put my foot down leaving a roundabout, hit a pot hole and completely lost control into rush hour oncoming traffic. I somehow (legit have no idea how) managed to control it before smashing a small lorry thing head on

Twice - not going into details, but terrorism was to blame for one of them.

How near would you consider the terrorism one?

No personal injury, thank God (well, bar a couple of cuts from people rushing); although others were injured and a couple of people died.

I was basically running late, so wasn't in the exact position I should have been in at the time.

Ye. Many times tbh.

The most major one would be when I was in the hospital for a month. I was transferred to 3 hospitals during that time period because no one knew what was wrong with me.

I may get a little bit into medical talk here so watch out!

So basically, it started off as like a pneumonia-type ilness and transferred into like the stomach flu. During that period of time, I would go through BP drops of 60/50 and crash while my heart was all over the place. My temperature would fluctuate to 39.4C every 3 hours or so. No one knew what was wrong. They still to this day never figured it out. It got so bad that they transfered me via ambulance to one of the best children's hospitals in the state where my oxygen levels dropped. I wasn't stable enough to go to the ICU, so basically, the ICU had to come down to me.

Throughout the month, it would affect a different organ every day. Whether it was my kidneys, liver, lungs, it didn't matter. That damn thing was out to get me! Hah! They tried to treat whatever they thought I had with steroids. Well. That.. Yeah.. That didn't work out so well. That was the moment when we realized I couldn't have steroids haha! My blood sugar popped right on up to 400-500 i don't remember but it was so bad almost went into diabetic coma. I was surrounded by doctors and nurses in one of the best hospitals in the country and they still don't know what was wrong. They think it was encephalitis, but they never figured it out..

Just a few weeks ago (those of you who have me on snapchat probably remember this haha!) I found the lab reports from the hospital during htis time. My ESR was elevated and My CRP was in the mid 200's. It's suppsoed to be less than like.. 5 i think... That usually indicates a severe bacterial infection such as sepsis.

Surprisingly, my kidneys were never severely affected, but I do have permanent pancreatic damage. Probably either from the infection or from when my blood sugar spiked so much it damaged.

Wait. For real? Zebra? Are those in Australia? I thought they were only in UK tbh.. We don't have those in America.
