Revision Tips?

Hey guys,

So I have 5 exams coming up this month, first one being Thursday and I've only just started revising tonight!


Does anyone have any revision tips on how best to remember information/study when revising? What do you do when you revise in order to make the most of your time?


At the moment I'm just going through the powerpoints from my sociology lectures and making notes, but already there's so many different names I need to remember for the exam and it's stressing me out!

I'm also going to read some journal articles later relating to the topics I'm revising for the exam (supercrip naratives & surveillance and the digital in early life!) to try get a bit more bulk information.


I am just scared that I'm going to get into the exam and forget all the names and stuff! Any advice? How do you revise for exams normally? :)

Do you have essay questions? For uni I would study past papers, look for patterns on what has came u, along with lecturers tips to select a number of questions. I'd write answers to them and learn. It was the best way considering how little time you have with uni!

Yea essay plans do wonders, also it helps you learn your KU.

ew exams :/ ive got 1 exam on monday and 4 more in june and im not at all ready

Try to be organised, today ive litartly wrecked my room cos i lost my some of my geology notes and kept finding loads of bits of notes
I try to make a plan of when im going to study and what subject so maybe use a time table and remember not to study for too long your brain needs time to recover and take in the info
I also make lots of notes i find it sticks in my brain the more i Wright it
dont think its helpful to study when its late its better to stop and chill so your more fresh to do more the next day

but this is how i normally revise
i get all my notes with good hopes of doing lots of work. panic at much stuff there is to learn. decide ive already failed this and give up but dont use my method cos its not very affective

Read, write, rinse, repeat. That's what I do anyway, and I write both model solutions and just general notes out over and over.

It was very rare that I revised, when I did revise a lot I ended up with an E so. However, I did do what scottish; suggested and it helped me a lot, it might just depend if you process long term or short term memory more.

I just write everything out in condensed notes and really nice handwriting lol. The prettier I make it the more proud I am of my work and so I like to look at it more.

me being lazy i only revise on the day before the exam but keeps it nice n fresh in my mind
i wont remember at all if i revised ages before it unless i went over n over n over n over and who wants to do that
when i do it tho i take my time on it
i put on a bundle of films then get out all my colours n draw pictures n tables and everything because i can just like picture my notes
so yday i had my psychology exam n started revising sunday afternoon
i put on remember me+ all the twilight films n revised until 11ish (altho make sure u have time to finish bc i didnt lmao i did 2/4 chapters but oh well)

oh another thing that helps me a lot if getting other people to quiz me
get them to read u questions or if u ask other people
if u go wrong u'll know cos they can correct u and itll be nice n fresh (for me i always seem 2 remember wen ive got things wrong so i remember the answer som1 else gives me unless i got it right)
or quiz apps or anything are good but i prefer people doing it
