a month or so ago i finally got my bedroom sorted and had an opportunity to organise my collection, gave me a chance to take some pictures of them which i've done in sets of colours!

i'm a sucker for buying limited edition stuff, so a good chunk of my collection are all coloured gimmicky stuff.

Absently; WELL......... i'm a bit stuck at the moment because i got a new turntable (£400 :(!) recently as my other one broke but i need a nice pre-amplifier for it, my old one had one internally. but yes i will play them, eventually!!

tbh though i never really bought them to play, i used to spend soo much on cds, and they just weren't worth it when all i was doing was uploading to itunes. so the main reason for me to get vinyl is the download codes, most stay in value (or increase - discogs says my collection is worth approx £7500), love to see them on my shelves, and knowing you have 1 of 100 of something is really cool too.

Yuxin; i never find anything at charity shops or car boots, too much crap 50s/60s/70s stuff to sieve through. most of mine are through internet buys really, if you buy directly from labels/acts most of them have some sort of extra, like might be signed, diff colour vinyl or free poster. same with indie shops, lots of albums now get "indie exclusives". so yes, lots of expensive pre-orders! will sometimes buy from hmv if they're cheap enough, but i set a rule of £15 or less for hmv.

most of it won't really be worth that much, but one of my main reasons for switching was it's retention value. like most cds i have are probs about 50p used now.

but i do buy a lot of ltd edition stuff, so a lot of them shoot up in value if they sell out quickly or the band get way more popular (e.g. passion pit and tame impala below). i do enjoy the hunt though! some things i'll buy just to sell off (which makes me an awful person), but half the time i'll find out i'd rather keep it.

I know this thread is mainly about the cover art and stuff but out of interest did you rate this album? I was looking forward to it for monthsssssssss ever since whispers of it were heard and then I was massively disappointed on its release, to me it sounded like a sample tape of demos so even with her amazing voice it was nonsense compared to a YYY album

i wasn't a big fan but i found it new for £6 so i really couldn't complain. the only yyy's album i'm a big fan of is it's blitz tbh. i still think she's a champ, and looking forward to new yyy's stuff, but after this and mosquito it's a bit meh (sacrilege aside)

It's nice to see Vinyl coming back. Can't you legally play vinyl anywhere in public without needing any license? I don't sadly have any, nothing to play it on, only really recently stopped collecting CD's as moved and didn't have any room. I do however know people who collect vinyl but don't have or want anything to listen to it with, more just to look at, which confuses me
