I'm not sure if this is still the case, but I absolutely hated the lack of communication in a very broad sense. Examples of this can be seen with events where they're announced like the day it starts or when V7 was just randomly put in place, or even HabboxLive's original farewell...

This is exactly the same for me!! I've been trying to work on it as a priority, advertising things better, in advance and stuff. It's still probably the thing that bugs me the most because there are really good things being produced, people just aren't aware of them all the time.

but yes, my main issue is most of us being stuck in our groups. i'm no saint but do occasionally make an effort to help someone out at the desk when they're being ignored or chatting to themselves.

I don't think the dislike I have can be fixed but it sucks that the inactivity during my time zone really sucks. There's not much going on to attract people in my time zone... I think Matt; and everyone else in the other time zones have said something in another thread about this.

But its not advertised as that, if it was itd probably be more active. When liam does his 18+ chat room it gets twice as popular as hxhd has been in a long time

As I said in the chatathon last night, it is a chat room for our members more than anything but we do still get a lot of people coming in to ask questions, every time I'm in there someone asks something!

I also don't think changing it to a lounge officially would randomly spike activity - that one is probably popular because of the 18+ sign, and probably full of people trying to break the Habbo way (which as a fansite we can't be seen to encourage / facilitate at all).

We could run lounge/chat room promos to see if it makes a difference sometimes though?

It's controversial I know about the HxHD vs lounge debate but I've switched sides completely over the last two or three years. Now I'm all for a lounge as no one can exactly argue the Help Desk is succeeding at the moment :/. And it's not like the help aspect could be forgotten entirely either, just advertise it as a lounge. No help desks are popular anymore! Honestly how many users are really looking for a help desk anymore?

But OT the thing I dislike most about Habbox is the massive amounts of negativity. It sounds really stupid and I just kind of assumed it happened on all forums but honestly I've joined other forums and Habbox is the worst when it comes to passive aggressiveness and sneaky, spiteful bullying. Obviously I don't really know how anyone could begin to fix that but I do think loads of people- and I'm definitely guilty of this myself sometimes- behave so horribly on here I can totally understand why no new users want to stay. And it makes me very angry that the people who post "it's dead" and "RIP Habbox" in Spam, or put 100% blame on (general) management in Feedback for the low activity levels are often the same people who are so nasty (even if they think they're joking, new and normally younger users will not see that) to the newbies. Just my two cents.

Put 18+ on a room and it'll get full because all the 14 year olds turn up to be totally rebellious. It's never anyone with anything useful to bring to the table and definitely not people who want to be part of a fansite because they think they're 2kl4skl

Quite a while back I brought up changing it into a lounge instead and just having moderators rather than Help Desk Staff, could always put "help" in the little tags, but I know it wasn't really an idea everyone agreed on at the time :P

I do have to agree with Empired; about the negativity. It is quite heartbreaking when people can be so nasty and seeing newer members leaving over it.

I agree. I'm not personally a beacon of positivity myself nor claiming to be a seat but Habbox certainly does have a generally negative aura about it and I think it can be quite off putting - if that's somehow changed in the past couple of months I apologise :P

Went to Liam's room earlier and there were like 4 separate fights going on, I know numbers are good but I really do think we can do better than the sort of people who spend their days in lounge rooms pretending to be better than everyone OR L33T AS THEY SAY IN 2003
