So I've recently been watching some videos on youtube about the deep web (i'd never venture there myself!), and some of the
most shocking things that have been found on there.
Have you ever been on the deep web?
What are your opinions?
and
Deep web or not, whats the worst thing you've ever seen on the internet?

Deep web or not, whats the worst thing you've ever seen on the internet?

hmm i would say yes
you can think of some of the most twisted and messed up things and it has probably happened
so it's only right it exists somewhere on the internet

Deep web is just anything that doesn't get categorised on search engines, most pages you go on probably count as the deep web especially if it's sites you have to log in to

THIS is something that more people need to understand, it's exactly that.
when people say "getting onto the dark web" they actually mean using a specific browser that uses P to P connections as well as others to browse, which makes it harder for government authorities and service providers to track what you're doing, hence why the media always normally pair pedophiles and terrorists with dark web activity - it's not like its a different internet, its just accessing it in a different way.

Maybe i should of rephrased the question to who has downloaded a different browser, tor for example, to access different sites not found on your average search engine

Why is it only right for it to exist anywhere? CP, red rooms etc..

don't get me wrong, right was probably not the right word
replace that with logical
I've actually never heard of the dark web, but I know that there are some horrifying things on the web that you can access that are questionable

In terms of onion sites and whatnot I've seen drug markets and stuff but never gone looking for CP obviously and gore stuff is around even on Google if you really get off on that

I've had to look at dark/deep web stuff a couple of times, the majority of stuff on there is just stuff people want to keep from government eyes and ears so a lot of it is illegal. You're not going to find a darknet BBC site, you're going to find silkroad sites though lol.
Really if it's on there or if you're using the software, you're hiding something that you don't want to be caught with and for most of the time I would say this is an illegal or malicious purpose. There's very little reason to use darknet otherwise, even if you're absolutely anal about privacy people would use a VPN instead of just using darknet sites.
The worst things I've seen on the internet are mostly child abuse stuff, there's really dark and twisted people who enjoy that kind of thing. Essentially if there's a market for it i.e. drugs, guns, human trafficking, terrorism, the darknet would be the first place you start digging about. Normally you won't find much anyway because the URLs are just a jumble of stuff so it's normally people who have a likeminded interest and a real determination to find this type of stuff that are the ones who are on it... so if you're found on it, it's quite easy to say you were determined to get there. :X
It's a horrible place, and not somewhere you should go peeking for the sake of curiosity because curiosity really does kill the cat.

Yeah, I've used tor browser, put in random .onion links and seen where they take me. Never had any malicious intent, was just curious when I was younger. Technically, I first downloaded it to find out about silk road, again - not to buy anything, just out of curiosity.
Seen some pretty horrific things, both on tor and off of tor - having said that, seen equally horrific things through work stuff that would probably make a lot of people sick.

I've personally never been on it but I've sat next to my ex-friends as they've been on it
I learnt a lot about them that day . . . . .. .
what were you looking for pyroka ;)
If you must know, it was trying to trace the origins of some child abuse material found on a computer.
@AgnesIO (https://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=36885); intrigued in what your career is if you have to deal with horrific stuff :) PM me if you're not comfortable, think we may be in the same field!
