On 22nd June this year Habbox Forum will be 12 years old, and what better way to celebrate than with an exclusive VIP, thought of by our lovely members? After suggestions are made, a poll will be created whereby you can vote for your favourite and then the winner will be selected through that.

You have until the 12th June at 23:59PM BST to submit your ideas in this thread. You can also post the VIP idea with an icon and we could potentially have one with, and without the icon.

In the past VIP has had pulsating effects, chaser effects and more so as long as it's possible to do, we want to see your entries! Just remember that some colours may be hard to use due to staff colours and exclusive VIP colours (such as red, gold and silver) - these are generally fine when accompanied by another colour though (and we will inform you anyway if they may clash with something already on the forum).

The prizes for the winner will include 2 Weeks Forum VIP, 50 Reputation Points and 300 Tokens!

Thanks to anyone who participates!

Can do you 'Habbox VIP' with the top and bottom a different colour?

Should do bottom as blue and top as yellow for the standard habbox colours and a birthday cake icon or something along those lines.

I remember in the last thread I think it was Chippiewill who said it was possible? I could be wrong though.

No idea, has it been done before?

I only remember them changing through the text (i.e. H a b b o x all different colours) rather than more of a gradient type effect where top of H is different from bottom, then same with a etc.

I'm pretty sure it hasn't been done, FlyingJesus; was it you who posted a picture of this last time? Your name rings a bell for some reason.

I think it would look decent if it's possible, better than the typical change of colour as you progress through the word like

Habbox VIP

colour and font exactly like the v1 logo

volter with sierks head next to the username as the icon

And there was me thinking we had run out of ways to make the forum look more tacky. :P

To be honest I think we've just about exhausted all the decent colour combos. Scott's is a decent suggestion though.

The birthday ones seem to still be there. I'll screenshot them all in action tomorrow unless Sam does!!

I can't find the old picture that I did as an example whenever it was, mostly because I haven't actually tried, but yeah having VIP where the gradient goes down rather than across is something I've wanted for years it would be much prettier

scottish
05-06-2016, 10:30 PM
was it never done due to not being voted or due to it not being possible?

To those requesting different things, would it be possible to provide examples from other forums or vBull help things? We are a bit limited as there aren't that many active people who can do FUNKY things any more :(

For the gradient you'd probably need CSS using linear-gradient(bottom, #00ffff, #ffff00) kind of thing.

I imagine you can apply CSS to usenames through custom class/id or even style tags.

scottish
06-06-2016, 05:56 PM
ok so it is possible

something like

<b style="background: dodgerblue; background: -webkit-linear-gradient(bottom, dodgerblue, yellow); background: -o-linear-gradient(bottom, dodgerblue, yellow); background: -moz-linear-gradient(bottom, dodgerblue, yellow); background: linear-gradient(bottom, dodgerblue, yellow); -webkit-background-clip: text; -webkit-text-fill-color: transparent;">

</b>

can obviously alter colours etc, current one we tested looks a bit rubbish on non-habbo dark skin

Chris
06-06-2016, 06:46 PM
Those colours are revolting. Could look nice with the right colours though. We need something light and summery.

scottish
06-06-2016, 06:51 PM
yes colours would need to be changed to look good

idk if it'll ever look good on non habbo dark tho

It is possible although it traditions into the other colour rather than one for 50% then other for 50%... Probably can get 50/50 but effort to test

I'd have no problem with that personally, I only drew it that way because it was the two basic Hx colours and I'm lazy :P

you just add 50% after the color

so

background: -webkit-linear-gradient(bottom, dodgerblue 50%, yellow 50%);

Hi guys,

I've been informed that it's unlikely a gradient VIP would work, so we're looking for the usual VIP styles we already have, this includes different effects though such as pulsating, chasing etc. this will also be released nearer July, so although it won't be primarily for Habbox Forum's Birthday as we had planned, it will come just in time for Habbox's birthday!

Get your ideas in and we will be choosing them soon, remember there is a prize if yours is chosen.

Beautiful!

Alternatively for the random colour one, we could have it choose a random colour from every standard vip colour we've sold. Thats kind of related to the forum history then.

This should work in all browsers as its using a text-shadow rather than text-stroke which is an experimental property. :D
