My most memorable compliment is when I was part of a band. We were a small local band that played more of a country/bluesy feel. I played the Cajon, and we were at a birthday party performing and someone had told me that they had purchased a Cajon because they saw me play it and I inspired them to get one.

When I was at school I used to write stories using real people's names (cos I'm terrible at thinking of names so took the lazy way out). Usually, I'd post on these writing websites to get feedback and change the names around but for some reason, I didn't this time. Someone at school googled their name and found chapters 1+2 of my story. It spread around my year and I kept getting people asking me for chapter 3. I even overheard two people having a debate about who they thought the stalker/murderer was (lol the plot was so bad and farfetched it makes me cringe now). It was a huge compliment though that people I had never spoke to were asking me about it, when I was going to post chapter 3, whether they could be in it etc.

Another one was the prettiest girl in primary school saying "I'd only date your eyes, you've got pretty eyes." Memorable at the time because I was in cloud nine. Memorable now cos it's so damn creepy.

Getting called Indian was gr8 insult. Na but a couple of those were reasonably memorable but it's more just being called slim is reasonably memorable. But I think the most memorable was over my voice a few years back and someone was just like "holy shit" and I don't really understand why, maybe they were surprised since I look 14 (apparently) but I won't complain :¬:

Your smile is herpes

Best compliment for me is getting acknowledged for things I do that would usually go unnoticed, just nice to be told you're doing well sometimes. Also when someone asks my advice on something because they know I'm good at it or know a lot about that thing, that's good even if I don't always feel like helping :P

in 2013 i did a lot of busking and someone gave me £5 (which was a lot from one person!!) and told me to never stop singing and put the money towards buying myself a street microphone and amp, which i did

another time i was in manchester art gallery sat on a bench drawing into my sketchbook and someone came over to me and told me that i had a real talent for drawing, i was just really humbled that in a room filled with artwork someone pointed out mine
