At least two explosions and gunfire have rocked Istanbul's Ataturk international airport, with reports of "multiple" people injured.
Gunfire was directed from an airport car park, according to a witness quoted by Reuters news agency.
Taxis were ferrying wounded people from the airport, the witness added.
In December, a blast on the tarmac at a different Istanbul airport, Sabiha Gokcen, killed a cleaner.
Recent bomb attacks in Turkey have been linked to Kurdish separatists or the Islamic State group.
A US State Department travel warning for Turkey, originally published in March and updated on Monday, urges US citizens to "exercise heightened vigilance and caution when visiting public access areas, especially those heavily frequented by tourists."
Here we go again..

Bloody hell! What must go through your head to want to kill and injure people?

BBC only says 10 dead, I'm hoping it's only that and not the 20 mentioned above :(
This is becoming way too regular now it's scary

From what I can see confirmed there's 10 dead and 20+ injured.
Turkey airports have 2 security checks one outside the airport and one inside, it appears that police suspected two individuals on the outside and started firing shots then the 2 bombers detonated.

BBC says it's just gone up to 28 dead, not good news at all :(
Fucking hate this world. Prayers to all involved - got a friend in Turkey who luckily just posted as "safe" on that facebook safety status thing.
Terrible news. I can't believe this keeps happening :(

Been looking at flightradar at aircraft movements around Istanbul and an aircraft has just departed from there, so it looks like it might be starting operations a tad.
Which is good news cos it shows they think the majority of the threat has gone !

Really? I always react totally differently to you. Yes, it's awful and sad and nobody ever knows what to say in situations like these. But I'm always reminded by these things how many good people there are out there. Like, there are a few evil people but there's such a tiny amount they're drowned out by the overwhelming responses of solidarity and support from the rest of the world that follow abhorrent acts like this one. I hope you see what I mean in that I know that it's so unfair that evil acts can wipe out so many peoples lives but there are so many more out there who condemn those actions and reach out to those injured and affected it makes me very proud to be a part of humanity.

Damn, may those who have been killed RIP. Quite a busy airport to be honest - It does seem that some operations are back up and running though with planes taking off and landing.

Over 235 injured too
I quite like this image, I feel like it sadly has quite a lot of truth behind it

I was reading a list of the attacks Turkey has had over the past year or so and I was shocked considering I hadn't even seen the majority of them in the news
RIP
RIP to those involved, I saw a clip of a suicide bomber and it was pretty brutal.
That's super scary. Sending thoughts and positive ju-ju to the families involved. :(
