Unless you’ve been hiding in some tall grass for the past few weeks, Pokémon GO should definitely ring a bell for you. Thanks to the app, Pokémon have been making an appearance around the world in places such as rivers, parks… and even the nearby police station.
Millions of Pokémon trainers are now searching far and wide to catch them all. However, although the app encourages players to go outside, explore, and socialise – it’s not all roses and sunshine. Like everything else, it also has some downsides attached to it. Here are some of them…

I don't see the problem here
It’s a distraction
I've looked at my phone plenty of times when I'm outside, I've never walked infront of a car or anything stupid... if you're stupid enough to walk infront of a car when playing pokemon then it's probably for the best.
Also isn't the distance on pokemon stupidly large anyway (e.g. from my house I can catch something across the road, so it's not like I need to stand in the middle of the road to catch a Pokemon in the middle of the road...)
I still don't understand it though, if I'm looking at my phone that's about what, 5% of my visible view? I can still quite clearly see all around the phone (i.e. if a cliff edge was approaching).
Driving and catching
People are aware of the dangers of using a phone when driving, not just texting. If someone is stupid enough to use Pokemon while driving then I would imagine they'd be as likely to text while driving
You could get robbed
Again I feel it's just stating the obvious (the reference was america though, I'm sure people are robbed at gunpoint thousands of times a day).
It kills your battery
Like any app that would have to run all the time and use internet, gps etc it will do. That's why people buy external batteries.
soz i'm just bored of seeing all these news articles about non-issues

You guys (and a lot of other people) may not be stupid enough to do these things yourself, but unfortunately there will be people who do. I agree that it's not like the game should be scrapped or anything or that it's not some huge issue but as with most things there will be people who take it too far or who put themselves/others in danger because of it.
Idk if this is true but this just popped up on my facebook LOL

Hundreds of motorists travelling eastbound on the M56 motorway faced delays of up to 5 hours today after a Pokémon GO ‘Gym Battle’ broke out in the middle lane near Manchester Airport.Early reports indicate that the driver of a Renault Scenic veered across three lanes before coming to a sudden stop. The driver, with three children in the back, walked out of his car into oncoming traffic holding his phone in the air.

I'm hoping that's made up and from a separate incident or something and not pokemon related LOL

Article is wrong - The actual picture is from the following events. Nothing related to Pokemon Go.

Well thank god for that haha! That would have been insane! Thinking about it I don't think the motorists would have put up with it! :P I certainly wouldn't have!
Just realised that the news site is full of fake articles :@ There's one about pokemon GO leading someone to Rhyl and her pokemon becoming drug addicts
Battery life is an issue.
I'm not able to play because of server loads most of the time.
There are no Pokestops where I live because I live in the middle of no where.
All I get when I am online is pidgeys, rattata and weedles.
Game crashes frequently even on wifi.
Game is useless without wifi. 4G is sketchy and 3G is a no-go.
So yeah lots of problems for me :P Still love the idea though.

i live in a valley in north wales so i get this too. when i went to town the other day and there were like 7 pokestops near me and so many different pokemon, it was crazy

Pidgeys, rattatas and weedles are pretty standard for most people are they not? Their encouter rate must be considerably higher than most other types. I don't think that's just your area [emoji14]
I do get other stuff as well but only when I'm playing the game for a while, I don't just randomly come across an eevee in my house.
Battery life and data consumption are a real issue for me as well, data being worse than battery I think. I seriously need to get more data per month :(

I know! Out in the sticks there are like no Pokemon. My Mrs said the same that in town there are loads of Pokemon.. Although it barely ever works without wifi for me :(

I'm in a pretty decent size town but even so the number of pokestops in the whole town centre is less than in 2 parks in Brighton :( some people are really lucky with them too like living and working on top of one or something and I'm here like oh I've run out of pokeballs again
yeah my closest one is a mile and a half away and i've not spotted any other one anywhere unless i go to town, which is 7 miles away from where i live
i've never even got an egg :(

From the map I can see like 7, but I live next to a city centre so if I go up the park I'm sure there'll be plenty :P

You need to get yourself a portable battery :P
Good article Sho. There are some morons out there that do play whilst driving.
