View Full Version : Stephen got a new hobbie - BAKING

Stephen

Here are some of my creations

Some may look bad but they tasted good and that is all that matters because I've grown a love for baking thanks to a a certain amazing streamer on twitch and so here are ma baked things so far

VIENNESE BISCUITS HALF COVERED IN DARK CHOCOLATE

http://i.imgur.com/Ke6r8Rx.jpg
I used too much cornflour but they tasted AMAZING straight from the fridge (it made them melt in the mouth instead of accidental breathing in the extreme crumble of them when eating them room temperature)

SOFT PRETZELS

http://i.imgur.com/MrHKiLE.jpg

They could be called poopbread pretzels but these were my first attempt at using yeast in baking and I'd never tried soft pretzels before. My sister has and said they tasted great though so +++++thumbs up on that yo

"Stephen's Viennese Whirls" with raspberry jam (of course) and that beautiful poop piping skills that I've come to know and love.

http://i.imgur.com/VCDgmaY.jpg

These are my best creation to date. Everyone who tried them say they were fucking awesome and who needs factory made shit like Mr Kipling when you have Mr Stephen's hand baked none of dat kitchen aid mixer shit?

Anyone else like baking? https://www.habboxforum.com/images/smilies/smile.gif http://www.habbox.com/assets/images//2013/04/05/LVHk0.gif

Awww yay another baking fan. I'll pop some of my pictures up when I'm on my laptop because my phone is crap :( I can only see the first image as well but viennese fingers look good!

I wish I could bake more but I'm poor and ingredients aren't always cheap. Plus I eat it in like 0.5 seconds oops

I would be so excited by that if we got enough interest but surely it would be really easy to cheat and nick something off the internet?

Oh my lord empz that cake is so satisfying to look at !!!

Yeah I'd be interested even tho I can't bake but it'd really just be a 'who can make the prettiest thing' cos we can't judge taste haha

im sure we were gonna do this before

yes we should pick a recipe or maybe just a 'dish' and everyone does it and posts pics and rates it themselves (BEING HONEST)

it's so hard for everyone to find free time though it would have to be like over a two/three week period

i've wanted to make biscotti and perhaps salted caramel cheesecake mmmm

can it not be more open like traybakes/cake/biscuits/cookies/something with piping/something orange/something with jam/something with habbox decorations (lol)
because I don't have a lot of money to go out and buy ingredients for a specific thing :(

Chris
20-07-2016, 12:04 PM

something more open like empired said would be a lot better, as theres a lot of different things you can do to one type of thing you are baking, like muffins etc, it'll be fun for a competition, LETS DO IT

FlyingJesus
20-07-2016, 12:17 PM
I was thinking I'd set tasks with a theme and then you can interpret that with whatever type of baking you fancy so like if I said theme is music you could do a set of sponges in the shape of a drumkit or little semiquaver biscuits or a cheesecake record player idk

And yeah I'd give at least a week between task and hand-in

Cerys
20-07-2016, 12:23 PM
How many tasks are you thinking of? Maybe run it for a month so 3-4 tasks?

I'd love to do this but my oven doesn't work so I'm gonna struggle :(

FlyingJesus
20-07-2016, 12:44 PM
Well since we don't want to discourage people I thought it'd be better to make it so that each one is a completely new competition with a different prize rather than bake-off style where no-one wins anything until the end and people get booted out. We can still keep a running tally of who's won X number of challenges obv but prob likely to just throw out a task every week or two and anyone who's interested can join in

I would hate that so much :( maybe I'm alone in this but I'd still find those themes extremely restrictive because making stuff like that takes a LOT of planning and a lot of time, and I assume most ppl would either ice some music notes on a biscuit or onto a cake.

I like the signature bake off challenge (the first bake of three in each ep of the bake off) where they're like "kk it's bread/biscuit/pastry/whatever week go knock urself out"

i dont wanna do challenges

i just wanna bake

as you can see my prev attempts are awful
I've never made a cake or anything in my life
go on with your bake off but i shall not be involved. I want things to taste good, looking good is just a bonus :(

also I'm severely allergic to meringue, cooking it doesn't kill the shit im allergic to in egg so i probz die or something
also working using raw eggs gives me a puffed up itchy hand for a while

btw @Empired (https://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=80588); were the viennese fingers from the jo wheatley recipe?
they look great

Empired; your ombre cake looks amazing!

You should invest in some new piping nossels, the star ones make everything look better!

Those cupcake kits where you have like Tom & Jerry stickers on top are lit the limit of my baking efforts which is why I'm Merry Barry rather than some contestant

They look tasty :O what are you using to pipe them, two freezable bags one inside the other and chop one corner off? you should be able to find fairly cheap piping nozzles if you look around online and check amazon maybe? They're normally about £1 to £1.50 each. Even if u only bought one I'd really recommend a large star shaped nozzle.

Stephen
30-07-2016, 08:55 PM
im using pipping bags and snipping a bit off the end then making turd shapes

So much effort I think ill just buy a large star nozzle because it's quite a thick mixture
