Released today. I pre-ordered a copy ages ago and forgot all about it. A nice surprise this morning when it arrived!
I was going to see the play but it's all booked up for a long time and I couldn't wait that long.

Anyone else got it? Going to see the play?

the whole way through i was like.... that's not in character at all...
like ginny was such a pushover, hermione was too loveydovey, draco was too horrible they were supposed to have made up etc

but it was fine granted u didn't take it as canon and some of the twists were good

Is the new movie " Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them " based on this book?

yeah the cursed child was a screenplay written based on harry potter but not by jk rowling
fantastic beasts and where to find them is also based on harry potter (well more so the wizarding world as it was before harry's time) i believe that one was actually written by jk rowling

I just finished reading it yday and it was alright... I'm glad I read it but it had a very slow start. Plus ye didn't really like any of the characters which was a shame, thought hermione in particular was utterly unbelievable and I guess I just refuse to believe voldemort would have had an heir? He valued only himself; why would he want a child to rival him or get in his way?

Yes I know but iirc Voldemort didn't know he had one, he thought bellatrix (am sure she was the mum.... dnt kno delphi age will add up to before bell died but hey it wasn't canon anyway) was preggers with her husband am sure idk

cursed child is canon if jk's signed it off lol
I agree that characters act out of character. The voldemort thing in particular I just don't think would ever happen. I suppose I was surprised how nostalgic it was in the end with the time travelling. I do like alternative realities and that sort of thing so I found it really interesting.

That will probably spark a whole lot of re-writes on Wattpad on this.
I'll probably be one of them once i read the book.

I've started reading the play version of it, quite good so far. I stopped now though as I am going to read girl on the train first.
