Hi guys!
This is going to be a bit of a long story so don't bother if you don't want to read!
Right so at work in my team I have myself (24) my sister (21), one cousin (18) and another lad (19), compared to others that work at the golf club we're all young and more like friends, especially we 3/4 of us are family. My cousin1 that I work with has a sister (cousin2) who sometimes works for me when we're short staffed. Well, the lad who I work with knows both of my cousins and they seem to have a love hate relationship. Taking the mickey out of one and other and it can get quite annoying at times especially when I am loyal to my cousin but also kinda loyal to the lad who I've worked with for 3 years. Like I don't want to take sides so it makes it real difficult for me to tell them off without them just going oh it's just Joe moaning again.
So anyway, the lad passed his driving test in July and in September for some reason started picking cousin2(15) up from school and dropping her home. He ended up staying at home with her alone until cousin1 came home. Cousin1 found it really strange that he would be doing that but didn't really think anything else of it until he started staying for dinner and stuff like that. At work I had no idea this was going on and cousin1 would be making sly digs to the lad about cousin2 n I was like wtf like that's just strange shut up. Seemingly taking sides with him for her digging at him.
So cousin1 and her boyfriend started dating in like June and she spends a lot of time with him and cousin2 feels like shes lost a sister for it and is always like I'm always on my own at home so my sister has spent a lot of time and energy making sure that she spends time with her, takes her out for dinner etc.
So, the lad is picking cousin2 up from school spending all this time with her and they're getting closer and talking about her sister and how shes alone. All the time whilst doing exactly the same to my sister. Well anyway, about 3 weeks ago the lad split up with his girlfriend. Since then he's been really shifty about why he split up with her and not really said anything. Turns out he has been round my cousins house every day. Me n my sister went round to spend some time with cousin2 yesterday evening and when she answered the door she was like oh I'm just getting in the bath. So we went didn't think anything of it, got round the corner and the lads car is parked there, we turned round my sister almost crashed into the house as she pulled into the drive, banged on the window n there they both were sitting on the sofa, the lad literally shit himself and ran upstairs.
Cousin2 said they were just talking about emotions and stuff like that. Me and my sister are in a real dilemma at the moment because shes 15 and hes 19. When he started going out with his ex she was 15 and he was 16. Didn't think that much of it but now its my 15 year old cousin n he is 19, like that's a bit of a bigger gap and seems strange. The strangest thing of all is the secrecy. I've had the lad round our house before in tears because of the amount of shit he got from people at work and his friends when he was dating a 15 year old. He says that he started talking to her cause she was just there which makes me feel kind of insulted. As I said at the top, we're really close and we feel like family. I treat him like a brother at Christmas and his birthday and stuff, like I'm actually really hurt that he didn't come to me when he split up with his ex.
I also think like if cousin1 and cousin2 are having problems why wouldn't the lad try and help sort it out whilst at work whilst it just seems like he's adding fuel to the fire.
I don't really know if any of this has made sense, I'm still trying to work it out in my head too. If you did make some sense of it I would like to know if you think i'm just being weird or if you think this is strange.
Me and my sister said okay the age gap is a bit weird but okay what ever if you're going out you're going out that's fine but just say and they both said they're just friends so why did when we went round their last night did she lie about him being there and when we went back why did he jump off the sofa and run away. If they're just friends why is there the need for the secrecy. Urgh idk. So confused rn
