no just watch the deals really

some you'll get for like 1p but under the condition you renew for 2+ years and your second year will be like £8

normally its 1 year so u just renew if u want or turn off auto renew.

but if you do a deal thats like 1p sometimes it'll be on basis you register for 2 years and renew at 8 quid on second year.

Godaddy all the way to get your domain name.

For one, their customer service is TOP NOTCH.

Secondly, they always run deals, like $.99 for your first year.

Or if you pick a domain and let it sit in your cart, they will sometimes email you wit a cool deal.

I personally use namecheap.com for domain names.

I recommend namecheap. Used them for a few years a while back, good prices, 24/7 live chat for any issues if I remember correctly. Heard a lot of bad stuff about go daddy. Let's just say cheap doesn't always mean the best.

Yes it matters, Those that say no clearly don't know much when it comes to hosting & domains. I like full control over my domains which is why I mainly use NameCheap, they provide whois protection, nameserver protection and more for free.

For instance, don't buy from a host that's not been around long, they always tend to close after awhile. Most hosting company's that provide domain registrations charge extra for nameservers & whois protection, whilst some even require you to contact them to change them.

Not forgetting, the pricing difference each company offers per domain extension.

I usually go with NameCheap for all my domains as they provide realistic pricing & domain coupons. Otherwise I'd use 1&1 for their 99p domain registrations. I did use GoDaddy once because that's where the domain I wanted was currently purchased with, unfortuntely for me, their domain system was too complicated for me, especially when it came to switching nameservers.

I could go on and on, but it's more or less your choice who you go with after abit of research. Just don't do what I did when I brought my first domain all them years ago and go with the first website you see, boy, was that a big mistake.
