as most will know Britain only holds referendums on constitutional issues
BUT i was thinking if you could have a vote/referendum on any issue if your choice, what would it be - and what side of it would you be on and do you think you would win?
i would probably pick a referendum on restoring the Death Penalty and i would vote to restore it and having looked at polling on it as well as talking to people in general i think we'd successfully bring it back. maybe we need a UKDP party
another i'd like a referendum on would be British withdrawal from NATO, i'd vote yes but i think my side [withdraw] would lose.
what about you

None because referenda are a complete waste of time and money that go totally against the entire point of representative democracy. Politicians may be stupid often but the general public are more stupid by far

If the death penalty was brought back here I would genuinely leave the country. I love it here but I would NOT stay in a place that supports that.
I'm not sure exactly what I'd have but I do think it should be asking for changes in the education system. I strongly believe we should be basing our education system on somewhere like sweden or the netherlands. I doubt people here would support that though.

I would vote on never having referendums again because the vast majority of the public are too uneducated on the subject to have any well formed opinion.
Sometimes I read what you say and just wonder if you just like to go against the grain.

It shocks you that not everybody holds the same opinion as you and your social circle?

Well I never actually stated my opinions on NATO or the death penalty, but when somebody only seems to hold very "un-mainstream" opinions, I do have to wonder.
They're definitely not something I'd ever like to see asked about to the general public though.

Wouldn't want to, would leave it to the people who run the country decide on these things. Too many stupid people who would vote because they have read a fake news article on social media.

You'd only need it to be over 1.5%

yeah but it still wouldn't count cos that 3% could be stupid people who read a fake article on social media
but it beats the 47% who voted the wrong option who definitely are stupid and read a fake article on social media
so it's 50% - 0%
