There are plenty of dating apps out there from Plenty More Fish to Match.com to MeetMe to anything! LMAO.
But I wanted to know, what's your views on dating apps? Do you think they're stupid and silly or do you think they actually work?
Do you use them? Have you used them? Have you met a past/present friend/partner on one?

If they work for you, then there's nothing remotely wrong about them.

i got just out of curiousity, not that i intend to date anyway
but deleted cos seriously who can be fucked with it. i could sit there with small talk on an app or go out with my mate to the bar and talk
i have like zero patience for anything technological

I've never used a dating app before but I've no issue with them! I know it might be hard for some people to find people to date if they might have a small friendship group or don't tend to go out

I assume you were supposed to say you haven't used a dating app?

never used one but not against them. Like sure go for it if you want but I think if you're gonna date someone you meet online then you need to know them for a while and atleast hear their voice or see them on cam etc
k ive never dated online or offline kk im a loner w/e but if i were to date and meet someone from online i would want to be talking to them for a decent amount of time cos then id feel like ive known them better? i dno
it's different to irl where you can go on a date etc so i believe you need to build up a decent online trust first
dont listen to me i have no experience in either

I deleted Tinder cos i just got frustrated at everyone like after having one nice conversation it'd always just go to WANNA BANG and I'm not into that :/ so yeah. Don't like the casual scene much which most dating sites seem to harbour
My best friend is getting married in april to someone she met on one and i've only had positive experiences, although i never did the whole uplaoding a proper profile thing,I just messaged people I liked.

I think it really boils down to what you use. Different apps/sites attract different types of people. If you go on Meetme, tinder, etc, expect to see a lot of creeps, fake profiles, people who mis-gender themselves, spam and general desperation. I can't count how many times I've gotten ads from guys, very obviously pretending to be female (and no, I don't mean trans, I mean they looked up a hot girl on Google and used it as their profile picture), overly creepy women who need to know every detail about me, to obvious escorts offering services.
With OkCupid, the way their matching system works really well to weed out a lot of those sorts of issues. Sure, weirdos still use the site, but from my experience it's not near as frequent.
I use them. They're pretty innocent fun so long as you take proper precautions. I've been in a relationship for about eight months with a girl I met on Okc and so far things have been great.
Plus I really don't like bars or clubs for hooking up.

As a Bodybuilding Forum miscer, I can confirm that girls on Tinder give STD's.

Okkkkk so we've had mixed reviews but to be honest, I don't think they're all that bad! If they find you love then why not use them?
