heard other day the samsung S8 is due out within next couple of months
i've got an S7 edge and it's in perfect condition not one scratch so i'm hopefully gonna sell that and use the money to buy an S8 which they reckon is gonna market for £680 to £750 ish but hopefully i'll get somewhere a lot cheaper from non-major retailer.
i think the camera is really strong a 30 so thats main reason for changing but also to not make a big loss on the S7 and sell while its in good condition and still a good phone
anyone else thinking of getting one x

Ive got s6. If s8 is going to come out soon its not really worth ugrading to s7 which is what I wanted.

I want to purchase it considering I have the Note 5 at the moment.
two friends from uni are planning to get one but i don't really upgrade to newer phones unless there's something wrong with what i currently have. they're super excited for it though

Yes the battery issue was bad but seems they know what caused it and how to avoid it. It's not like iphones haven't had issues maybe not as bad but still.
I'm due an upgrade in about August and need one desperately. I have an s6 but the s6s are not waterproof and think I got water in it which has made it a bit temperamental at times plus the s6 doesn't have an sd card slot. Depends on the deals really. I got my s6 just before the s7 came out. Vodafone loyality services gave me a really good deal so hopefully they will again.

The battery is still bad.. the iPhone never really had any big problematic issues unlike Samsung which not only had bad battery to begin with but bad camera quality, not to mention the apps which are so hard to function.. To change a whattsap profile picture you have to go all the way in settings, I mean if you have technical insight then it's probably easy but for new users? That is bullshit.. lol. Yet iPhone can be done directly within the apps settings. Much simpler in so many ways and for so many functions. x

There were plenty of issues with past and current iPhone releases
Not sure about the camera comment as I'm pretty sure the S7 is rated better for camera vs iPhone 7? unless your reference 'to begin with' is aimed at very old phones?
Apps are the same on android and iOS, if one has a button to change the profile picture in a different location then that's down to the app developer and nothing to do with either Samsung or Android. Again though, even taking that into consideration one app isn't enough to justify one superior to the other lol, especially for something once you've learned to do it's common sense.

If I was going to Android I would probably get a Google Pixel. At least I wouldn't have to deal with the mess Samsung adds to Android itself.

regardless, iphones are better. and true, the camera quality has improved you're right but in general i find them much easier to use. and that's generally speaking given i was a samsung user first.

Regardless they're not.
Similarly the camera quality of all iPhones progressively got better and they were crap to begin with too.

I find all phones have battery issues over time - the batteries might be rechargeable but they are only designed to be charged so many times. The camera is good on my phone no issue with that and the apps are fine - if anything with Android being open sourced you have the option to download stuff outside the play store, something you can't do with the iphone (at least unless you jailbreak it). Why is going into the settings so hard?
As for issues I remember when one of the old iphones wouldn't work for left handed people and the first release of its map app was a joke - cities didn't exist or where miles away.

What do you not like about them?
I find that iphones probably do have a lot more apps and a lot more choice on apps but I prefer samsungs because they are so easy to use I think they take better pictures too.
can't imagine switching from an iphone now. i'm too used to them

It's not a stupidly massive gap number wise between the iOS app store and the Android store. But all of the "major" apps you would see most people use are on both platforms either way.

Yeah android is cheaper as well iirc like 25 quid vs 100 for app developers so more less popular apps will pop up on android too.

There are a lot more apps simply because people use apple products more than android, yeah. Therefore, things are more compatible with iPhones.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
You say wrong wrong wrong yet you give no explanations to your disagreement.
Bringing it back to topic of the Samsung S8; I am not a fan of the Same Series... When my contract was up for my phone, the Samsung S7 was available, but the specifications of the phone did not meet what I was looking for. I ended up getting the Motorola G4.

Exactly. Walk outside and go to the grocery store. You don't even need numbers for this one.

Is there evidence in this conclusion?
Or should we just assume this due to personal knowledge?

It's simple numbers. No opinions needed; just numbers. A simple search on Google will reveal the answers.
You two are both doing exactly what we stereotype North Americans for doing... the world is much bigger than your two countries.
China Mobile OS Marketshare: Android = 79%, iOS 20%.
India Mobile OS Marketshare: Android 76%, iOS 2.3%.
The above two nations have more than 1 in 3 of the world's people. Now, go and to the math(s) on which OS people "use more".
Now, if Landon had said that people spend more on iOS apps, he may have had a valid point.

Even the UK has something like 75%/18% doesn't it.
I'm pretty sure Samsung alone outsold iPhones?

That's the kind of behavior that really makes me angry. You had no need at all to attack North Americans in a simple discussion. If you feel like Canadians/Americans are selfish then I suggest you start a new thread and my fellow North Americans would be happy to discuss with you instead of stooping low and attacking us just because we were born here.

You support a man who openly talks about sexuallt assaulting women, encourages violence against protesters, and hates immigrants... and yet you get offended by a light hearted comment based on your assumption that by walking into a grocery store you can see that Apple have more users than Android?

I think it depends what you need and want the phone for -:Undertaker:-; as for me I wouldn't purchase a phone for so much money (although the Google Pixel looks amazing), I go for what I need in a phone and find one that's affordable to me. I have a Moto G4 and it's one of the best phones I've had whereas your personal preference would be different and might find more use in the Samsung S8.

A) I'm well aware of this. English people love scones and all have lovely accents, whilst living in a country that never stops raining. They are stereotypes. Doesn't mean they are true. Chill out.
