View Full Version : Have you ever doubted your sexuality?

For me personally, I've never doubted it but when I first realised I was gay I denied it for years and even dated girls hoping I'd find something that was special enough to change me but that didn't happen. I was bullied at school for years because of my sexuality (this was before I even came out) which made me want to hide it even more. When I finished high school I realised that it's not anything to be ashamed of and no matter how much I wanted to be "normal" I never was going to be so I came out and I haven't looked back since :)

I haven't because I've always had strong feelings about my 'straightness'. But good for you in showing what you really feel!

It was many years ago and I know for a fact my parents wish I was straight but they've accepted it.

As do all. Maybe it's a problem for them in figuring out how the family name continues.

Very much so but once I came to terms with it those doubt were removed.

yes i did! i think everyone has questioned their sexuality if i'm honest

used to think i was straight until i started having other feelings... bit awkward
then just questioned it all the time and constantly was worrying
now i don't really care

I've never questioned it. I've always known I was straight. Never had a single feeling for a female or even thought about it.

Did you ever think it was a phase?

Did you ever think it was a phase?

not really because when I began liking the same gender I always assumed I liked girls too
so then I just pushed it to the side and acted like it didn't matter, always knew it was something that couldn't be changed

Ah okay just I was around 12 when I knew I liked guys too and I always told myself it was a phase that people go through, that it was "normal". I even dated girls too because I thought the feelings would go away.

ahh haha, i've always been extremely shy and quiet so whenever someone spoke to me i'd always shut them off.

around that age i always stuck to myself, i was the type of kid that'd go home after school and just play in my room on my own because i really liked my own company, so never had to get mixed up with all the relationships and whatnot

Aww although best way to get over shyness is by putting yourself in situations you find uncomfortable :)

Not really. I had a moment of realisation when I fell in love with a girl that I was a lesbian and everything just made sense, I only ever "liked" boys in school because all my friends did so it seemed like a typical teenage thing to do. A few years ago, I did have a month or so when I was questioning if I could be with a guy, because I've always identified as lesbian, which was strangely upsetting at times but I think it was just a passing thought that I worried too much about. I haven't questioned it since.

Nope, never questioned or doubted it :) but I'm a great believer in people taking the route they are most comfortable with.

haven't questioned it, I've always known I was straight. I do think some men are hot (no homo) you just can't let a beautiful male face be ignored just for the straighter good
