stealing from shopping trolley

Had a conversation about it the other day with a friend.

If someone goes grocery shopping, for example, and takes something from another person's shopping trolley and puts in theirs to save them looking all over the shop for that product... is that stealing, or not? Since no one has technically paid for it? :P :D
