NHS staff unable to access files unless payment is made.

Some GPs having to use paper and pen, non-emergency surgeries cancelled and ambulances diverted!

Even those not affected are shutting down their IT systems.

No evidence yet that patient data has been effected, and it is not just an attack on the NHS (Spanish businesses reporting same problem)

It's really bad and pathetic that someone has done that, hopefully they'll get it sorted. Reading the article, it says that US hospitals got hit 3 times last year, clearly someone has something against them or is at least hoping they'll get something out of it.

Better privatise the NHS.

Really shitty for everyone involved though I have to say. What **** bags.

It's ransomware, it's very common and businesses are targeted and effected by this every day.

Bet this was a conspiracy by Theresa May who'll pop up tomorrow saying "a privatised health service would never let this happen!" /sarcasm

It's supposedly not a targeted attack, they basically trawl for any system they can get into and it just so happens that they caught a big one. In any case they could do with a new designer that page is ugly
