Today the 13th doctor was announced as Jodie Whittaker making her the first female doctor. I would have prefered if the role had stayed male and think it could cause issues but will watch it and see what she brings. What do people think?

I think the whole show is daft and if you want to win a time war you just go and murder your enemies as babies or something so really turning into a woman is the least ridiculous thing about it all and if I'd been a bloke all those centuries I'd probably fancy trying my luck with boobs too. Can foresee a lottttt of "they told me I can't do X because I'm Y but I totally showed them!!!" storylines which are overdone and boring but since I don't like the show anyway it won't really affect me other than having to hear about it

She must be really proud of herself for landing a role purely due to gender as the BBC wanted to be PC.

What next? Jane Bond, Mr Marple, Sally Holmes and Hayley Potter? Absurd.

I saw this before and so far seen most of these.

I'm not hugely fussed either way, I'm not the biggest fan of Doctor Who I only really like the episodes David Tennants in so I probably won't bother watching this new doctor. Might watch one or two episodes if I can be bothered to see what she's like.

I don't care for Doctor Who but it's so funny seeing people get annoyed over the fact that it's a woman, basically anything raging from "SJW bullshit" to "It's Doctor Who, it's meant to be a man" even though I've seen people prove that theory wrong. You never know how it's going to turn out until you see her play the role and I'll bet she'll do a fantastic job of it and everyone who bitched will just accept it and enjoy it.
