The Ed Sheeran/Thomas Turgoose cameo was so awkward Ed Sheeran was just Ed Sheeran in a bit of armour, clean face no character same hair, might as well have introduced himself by name. The Sam Tarly montage was hilariously disgusting, STILL NO GENDRY THOUGH and why are they even worried about the walkers when it's been stated that dead men can't pass the wall, silly chaps. Also from a tactical point of view am annoyed that the Iron Fleet managed to get all the way to King's Landing but didn't think to intercept the Dothraki coming over the sea, could have sunk the lot of them before anyone even landed 4god or at least go fortify the place, looks like someone's been in to do the dusting at least

Ikr I don't understand how Dany and the dothraki got across with no fight? A boring little summer paddle across the sea instead of what should've been some intense boat slinging?? They they all knew she was coming?

I've heard people think Bran being marked will somehow help them

Pretty sure this is what the Hound's vision was all about. They might try and go around it via Eastwatch-by-the-Sea.

Also, I don't think Arya is actually going to go South. Surely, she will soon hear of the resurgence of the King in the North. Looks like she may bump into her long lost direwolf Nymeria nest episode, going by the preview. This will probably remind her of family and ties into the Sansa quote: "When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."

Spoilers obv but couple of questions about the latest ep:

In the same vein as "how the hell did Dany get to Dragonstone without being intercepted" (which is partly explained in a throwaway line about the Tyrells helping) something that should have jarred last ep is HOW DID EURON GET A HUGE FLEET RIGHT AFTER HIS WAS NICKED like it was obviously bigger than the one that was previously at the Iron Islands or it wouldn't have won the day so how the honk did that happen?

ALSO MORE WEIRDLY why didn't Ellaria fight at all? Leader of the Sand Snakes but cowers away in a bunk and stands behind her daughter while she gets pummelled, kinda glad she lost for that alone

Finally not a question but an observation: Varys is definitely the best character in the show, but Sam is fast becoming a beast of a chap especially compared to how shit he was before. Probably should have knocked Jorah out before cutting all his skin off though rather than just getting him drunk. Shame the Boltons are all dead they're good at flaying lololol

In that case hope The Mountain bums her in the face for trying to give it all that back in Dorne

So much good stuff this episode. Olenna Tyrell is a beast — Diana Rigg steals every scene she's in. Sam is MVP and Bran acts like he's just beyond everything now. Didn't realise he would become some infinite source of knowledge about everything that ever was. Sansa, my powers are too difficult to explain, but you were so beautiful the night your were raped.

Init he's well boring now, and if he's so powerful why doesn't he just warg into Cersei and drink poison

I think Bran is one of the more interesting characters, but he's never given the focus, so he seems kind of wandering and sparingly developed. He has a lot of plot armor, given his secret knowledge, so I'm not sure he'll die soon. Interestingly, it may be Bran that brings calamity to Westeros — because the Night Knight touched him, which negated the powers concealing the Three-Eyed Raven's cave, this may also negate the magic protecting The Wall as Bran passed through it, though if he was truly all-knowing you would think this would be obvious to him.

Also, I don't think Bran really cares about Cersei, or anyone in particular. He didn't even show emotion to Sansa, because she's so detached from all he has seen and known. Bran is kind of a separate entity now — the trivial wars of people mean little to him. Like Jon, his focus seems to be with the Army of the Dead and the Long Night. This (https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/6qtd8k/spoilers_main_re_whys_bran_acting_so_weird_why/) is a good post concerning the mindset of Bran.

Littlefinger's days are surely numbered. Bran-Not-Bran slayed him this episode.

Leaked episode full of nothing. Not even sure how they made it fill the timeslot, NOTHING HAPPENED except for Arya somehow beating Brienne because muscle doesn't exist only speed matters in medieval warfare right right

You mad, boy? Loads happened. The Stark children are back in Winterfell for the first time since Season One, and the Dothraki were finally useful again. Drogon got shot, which will probably save him in the long run if he doesn't have to confront the Night King now, and I can see Bronn dying very soon. The writing definitely isn't as fluent or well-plotted as earlier seasons, though. You can sort of tell one thing is leading to another just so they can get to a certain point — it isn't being developed as organically anymore. I really hated that the attack from Dany happened just after the gold was safely transported to King's Landing.

That was just so convenient and annoying!

Also seriously none of the main characters died?? Bronn should've been gone!

Yeah, Game of Thrones used to be notorious for misleading viewers and killing off its main cast, but the recent seasons haven't really had any of that. I thought Bronn was dead for sure, but the preview for the next episode has Dany telling the survivors to bend the knee. I guess Bronn may live on.

Only three episodes left.

Episode six has leaked and it's glorious, but the writing has gone to shit. Kind of gutted it's moving at a lightning pace now, and some of the story decisions from season five onwards have just been very puzzling, but it doesn't disappoint when it comes to spectacle. Interested in what other people think, but I can't look at discussions because the scripts leaked and people keep throwing around juicy info from the finale next week like it's common knowledge.

More main character glory, in the fight it was like OH SOMEONE DIED nvm just an extra even though I'm sure it was only the heroes who set off ;||| was expecting Tormund to sacrifice himself to save everyone by smashing the ice with Gendry's hammer á la Dagonet in the 2004 King Arthur film, glad that didn't happen because it would have been an even worse way out of the situation than fibre-optic ravens and lightspeed dragons

Finally gonna start using fire to melt shit are we? Cracking. Oh but as usual "not-Dany" decides not to target the most important area of battle and just fly around in circles instead so that people with powerful ranged weapons can attack her. Top bins tactics love. Also good thing that ice water isn't cold and fur doesn't get heavy when it's wet right

Will someone main just die already??????? What happened to this 'we kill all your favourites every episode' thing??? We got used to loving characters to then watch them die and now it's just extras. I love Tormund but I was ready for him to die cuz it was obvious he would die and then he just didn't??? Come on writers???

Also for some reason I think Jons going to be able to control white walker Viserion. Something about him being half Stark and king of the north and half Targaryen as well just makes me think he will be able to idk.

Either way way someone better die next episode or I'll be annoyed (but not Tormund or Tyrion pls)

I think they're saving the character deaths until the ultimate showdown in the final season, though a couple may fall next episode (definitely Yara). After years of strife, it's nice seeing the characters succeed for once, but I just wish the story and their actions made more sense.
