In terms of the SDP, a disaster - their leader Martin Schultz, one of the most fanatical Euro federalist lunatics out there (the guy Godfrey Bloom shouted fascist at a few years back), quit as European Parliament President in order to fight this election and lost bigly! Results still coming in but looks like AfD to win 95 seats as currently projected.

The SPD have ruled out a Grand Coalition with the CDU - partly because they've been in one for the past 8 years but also because if they did not then the AfD would become the official opposition party in Germany, and the major parties can't handle real opposition.
