Another year coming... another thread.
I'm already trying to put together some trips, especially as ticket prices on planes drop so low in January and February! Got two i'm *trying* to organise at the moment.... one is a trip to Bombay, India in maybe March and the other a long weekend in January to Moscow, Russia. Just throwing them out there at the moment and waiting to see who can do - one mate is going to let me know on Bombay before Christmas, if it's a Yes then i'll book immediately.
So my (shaky) plans so far are....
Moscow, Russia https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/f3/Flag_of_Russia.svg/23px-Flag_of_Russia.svg.png - January(?) - £320
Bombay, India https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/41/Flag_of_India.svg/23px-Flag_of_India.svg.png - March(?) - £330
But who knows. Most of my holidays last year were last moment trips. Not getting my hopes up massively about the two above as depends on a lot of factors but certainly are top of my list and i'm quite keen to do them!!!
What about you? Any plans to go away, where and how much?
Planned to go
Venice, Italy
Koper, Slovenia
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Split, Croatia
Kotor, Montenegro
Corfu, Greece
Possibly Norway too. I doubt that though.

Just booked flights to Moscow, Russia! £180 each for a return with luggage.
My mate will book accommodation tomorrow and then we've got to go to the Russian Consulate in Manchester to get fingerprints and our VISA's done.

Was watching Moscow travel videos last night and couldn't sleep for hours as I was that excited.
Apparently they keep the lights up all winter so it'll look so pretty. I really hope it snows while I am there!!

i know im replying on basically all of your posts but for NYC i would look at combining Norwegian airlines and booking hotel or AirBnB separately, i got a r8 good deal from Gatwick direct. Heard people going on cheap airlines (WOWAIR) via Iceland as well. That is if youre pennypinching.

yea it's well worth it. wow is cheap because its essentially 2 short-haul ryanair-style flights joined up. norwegian is cheap for reasons unknown, but you get no food on the plane but the food and beers are pretty inexpensive (like $4 a beer, $5 a sandwich).
go to the happy hours if youre drinking out, and check out areas outside manhatten like brooklyn etc for some less standard/more interesting (and a bit cheaper) places to eat. it is a magical city though and i would love to move there for a year.

Since I've just finished off my med school and about to go back to my beloved country Malaysia, I'm thinking of having a road trip with my best friends for one last time (most probably, unless they are still hyped up about our friendship when they grow old).
A friend suggested to go for a two days trip to Singapore by land, using trains and what not or Thailand or Indonesia but to be honest, I don't fancy them much. Because we gonna spend only a few days if we go to a foreign country. But we can use the same amount of money for a longer trip if we do domestically. So, I proposed we have a week tour around the whole Malaysia. It's not finalized yeah, but I hope we have the chance too though! It's one of my last chances to be close and create memories with them <3

i visited gibraltar a few years ago and it's one of my favourite places to have ever visited!
also moving to spain will help you a lot with your language learning (assuming you're still learning.) i wish i was brave enough to move somewhere completely new like that. best of luck!

Really really good, glad I went when it was snowing too - you come away impressed that this grand imperial city rises in the East totally isolated. Without a doubt it is the grandest place I have ever been, place it most reminds me of (architecture wise) is Liverpool tbh.

Interesting! I've quite fancied Morocco. Let me know how Algeria is, if you go.
To add to this, I got back from Portugal on Monday. Double post ikr.

Update on this, went to Ingoldmells in July/August (had food poisoning most of the holiday, so it wasn't much of one for me).
Instead of Prestatyn we went to Pwllheli.
Off to Blackpool with my boyfriend at the back end of October until the start of November. So with this one, he wanted to go to Blackpool as he thinks there's more to do there than Skegness and he liked it when we went last time (our first holiday together, his first time in Blackpool in June 2016). It was really dead at that point, so we decided to book off from 29th October (we're away for Halloween which is great, trick or treating at hotels in Blackpool was good fun as a kid, shame I'm too old now and we're away for his birthday too yay) and I assumed that was when kids went back to school so it wouldn't be as busy as school holidays - turns out a lot of schools have that week off so he's going to see Blackpool like never before :P.

Being a teacher, I am now constrained by when I can go away.
With two friends we've decided we're going to try go away over New Year. Ideally I would like to go to Burma, but prices are quite high this time of year with the holidays so we may just have to take what we can get. So far seen cheap flights to India, Jordan, Ghana and Canada.
