Yes here we are again as the Cambridge's prepare to welcome their third heir into the world. It really doesn't seem that long ago that the other two were born, time really does move fast. So far, the family is currently comprised of...

HRH The Duke of Cambridge (2nd in line to the British & Commonwealth Throne)
HRH The Duchess of Cambridge

Issue:

HRH Prince George of Cambridge (3rd in line to the British & Commonwealth Throne)
HRH Princess Charlotte of Cambridge (4th in line to the British & Commonwealth Throne)

So this new baby will be 5th in line to the throne, knocking Prince Harry into 6th place. The sex isn't known by the public or the parents so we'll just have to wait. Mindful that if it is a boy, since the changes in 2011 to the Acts of Succession, the boy will no longer leapfrog over Princess Charlotte as used to be the case.

The favourite names with the bookies currently are Mary as the lead, followed by Alice, Victoria, Elizabeth, Albert, Arthur, Frederick, Philip and James. Out of these, which do you hope they go for depending on the sex/gender?

Out of those I would opt for Princess Alice and Prince Albert I think.

I would hope Alice for a girl, James for a boy.

I feel a little sorry for prince Harry. It's going to be another Phillip.

Who cares about some dumb baby! I hope they just name it "No. 3" or "Drei," anything but another Elizabeth, Victoria, Philip, Albert, or Arthur!

I was thinking this but I do suspect Harry never expected to be king (unless something awful happened), hence his questionable behavior in the past in the public eye (not complaning, I like the fact he's a human having fun but yeah).

That does make sense... it'll be the same with the other two babies too (though George has already shown some questionable behaviour at his age :D)

Yes, for Prince Harry to become King it would require something tragic to happen to the whole Cambridge branch of the family. If you notice, it is rare you will see the Sovereign and all of her heirs together in say a car - this is for security reasons.

From memory, and from a quick Wikipedia search, I cannot find a British Prince - even before the Acts of Union - with the name of Prince Louis. Obviously it is in tribute to Earl Mountbatten of Burma (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Mountbatten,_1st_Earl_Mountbatten_of_Burma), but yeah very unusual. Very French! I like it.

Virtually all French Kings, especially in the House of Bourbon, went by the name of Louis.

Not as a forename, but both William and George have it as a middle name. Realistically these days none of the kids are gonna die off young of typhoid or anything so after the first they might as well call them Chardonnay and Tyson :P

God damn I actually said ages ago that I bet it'll be called Louis or Phillip (if he'd died before the birth which was looking likely at one point) I did this with Charlotte too I NEED TO START BETTING

Ahhh yes the warcry of a woman who is about to become destitute... knowing full well your experiences with "luck", I would definitely suggest you do not do this
