So we've got Eurovision coming up next week, semis on the 8th and 10th with the final on the 12th! I just binge-listened to all of the entries and sort of rated them. I say sort of because frankly a lot are forgettable so placed somewhere in the middle... but yeah basically Estonia should win and Iceland should be bombed for making me want to vomit.

This list is in no way what I think WILL happen because my favourites never win and for some reason people like the abomination that is the Danish entry as well as the Israelite making weird noises but oh well.

WELL some surprises there! Tonight we've seen Albania, Austria, Bulgaria (who were shit), Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Israel, and Lithuania go through, with Azerbaijan missing out on the final for the first time in 10 yearsssss because their song was boring and forgettable. Shame Switzerland didn't get through but oh well, bring on semi final 2

Would have liked to see Belgium and Switzerland get through! Lithuania and Ireland were my shocks although Ireland deserved it but I didn’t think they would be in.

So pleased for Ireland! :D I really didn't think they were going to get through, but so deserved to! There were definitely some surprises last night! It feels like a very strong year this year!

Tbh if the UK wasn’t voting in that semi i doubt they would have gone through! Wonder when the voting breakdown will come out..

Also, I'm guessing you all already know but the UK are performing in the first half of the main show on Saturday. (I'm thinking they might even put us on 1st or 2nd), however so far almost all of the countries allocated for the 1st half barring the UK are all slow songs, so its looking likely to be a dreary start for some people :') All the favourites seem to be in the 2nd half so far.

yeaaaah I did know we were first half I so hope it’s towards the end :( hopefully it should help us stand out a bit though? Haven’t seen any other lineups yet. If Estonia or Cyprus are put in towards the v end I’m gonna call rigga morris

Estonia got 1st half, but I'm convinced they are going to put it right at the end (so bang slap in the middle of the whole thing) to give it the best chance possible.

To be fair the UK being the most upbeat song in the 1st half may be a good thing as they may place us in the middle to break things up a bit :')

it’s so unfair they choose and it’s not randomised, I kinda get why because they’ve got to put a *show* on but it’s so unfaaaair

although tbf out of the last 5 years the winner has come from the first half so never say never

Doesn't really matter where we're put, the song is mediocre and even Ireland doesn't vote for us any more :P better to have the good songs in the 2nd half because then we can all be drunk enough to really party down *+*+*+*+

Cyprus getting that placement is just a joke! Ireland should benefit from such a sweet song before that crazy though. UK in spot 9, when Graham Norton asks us to raise a drink to Wigan’s memory is sweet. We’re surrounded by much more demure songs so hopefully will help us stand out a bit too!

Yeah I thought that about Ireland too and in the same way Israel and Hungary are going to be like forgotten about and brushed off as “the weird section” of eurovision

I'm actaully really loving our song this year shame it seems it might not do well but it really deserves to be in the top 10.

Israels song isn't the worst but it shouldn't be in the top 10 really don't like all the stupid chicken sounds and hasn't even got a good tune or lyrics and Irelands song isn't any better don't think it would even get to finals but now its got good odds on winning

Ireland is getting so much press coverage cos of China censoring it but the guy singing isn’t even LGBT and every time he brings up LGBT issues in press conferences he IMMEDIATELY follows it up with “I have a girlfriend”

And he tweeted something completely false about Russia censoring his performance (which they didn’t) and keeps doubling down on that FAKE NEWS :(((((( I’m getting annoyed at it as much as I want somewhere local to host so I can justify going!!


ANYWAY I think Denmark is my new favourite I keep listening to it and the a Capella version, the harmonies are so beautiful and the song itself belongs in a Disney film set in the Viking era. No way is it gonna win but it’s lovely!

IKR I'm actually so proud and surprised she's not exactly a huge famous singer and she handled it so perfectly

I wonder if we'll re-perform though at the end of the first half or end of the show
