Intrigued to hear everyone else’s thoughts? My impression of Habbo now is that it’s full of young kids and it had me thinking, why do they target children? Surely the age range of 16-21 have more of a disposable income and therefore makes sense to target that age range rather than kids who most likely have to ask mom and dad to buy them credits?

I think the younger market have potential for longevity and are more easily hooked :P plus they can use mummy's money which they will do without caring, whereas us old folk have to budget and balance because we're using our own money. Older people on the hotel are there because we grew up with it, or at least I'd hope that it's not because a random 22 year old saw an advert for a teen chatsite and decided it sounded good anyway. For Habbo to actual TARGET older folk they'd have to offer vastly different things and remove a lot of what they currently do/have

I honestly am taken aback that they still advertise?

I thought they'd sort of accepted long term decline and were aiming at loyal users?

I think they're still trying to AIM at younger people through the development of the app, their advertising and tone and everything but their pickup doesn't seem to be fantastic. They do seem to realise they have a LOT of older players who have been around for ages by bringing back old ranges or recolours etc, but it's not really enough.

I do wonder if our perception is a little distorted because of our involvement in fansites however though. The RP community is huge and seems to have quite a few younger people, and the Welcome Lounge is full of them. I wonder!

They say Habbo is for teenagers but it feel as if it can be for everyone. Even adults. No young teen or kid has money to buy credits unless they ask someone to buy some or they themselves have a job. Like their surveys to earn credits. You need to be an adult for certain surveys that require important information to fill out. {Unless they are slick and lie about the information they punch in.} Habbo is for young teenagers and early young adults but I think they are using these age group to get money out of them.

I don't think that's a very sustainable business model, but saying that, it would probably be good for the game if they went to route of OSRS and reintroduced an older version of Habbo. The game doesn't have as much substance as Runescape, but I bet a lot of older users would welcome the return of things like wobble squabble, casinos, and non-wired mazes. There's so much more furni and everything now, but sometimes it seems as though there's less to actually do.
