As some forums have merged, titles changed, descriptions still to do..

Would it be worth reviewing stickied threads? Some are very old and could do with a revamp. Not to mention some information could now be out-of-date.

For example 'Education and work' has 4 stickied threads for beginners French, German, Spanish and Japanese. Why not have one thread - 'Languages for beginners', improve the content, add fancy banners, have votes/ideas on what stikied threads there should be/forum comp to create new and improved threads.. I can go on :P

This looks like a quick-win for our community.

This has already been discussed and I know some of the older ones have already gone! With some stickied threads, I think it's just the case of we might just not know whether to unstick them or not with how long they've been there (and if, like in your example, if we don't know certain languages we wouldn't know if they're outdated). I think those ones however, could potentially be unstuck as well as a couple of others (unless people really want them to stay for whatever reason).

also a Q for forum boffins, i just paid for 'upload ur own icon' so who do i PM with an icon and what are the dimensions for an icon size?

Good idea. Since most of the posts were dated way back, it gives an image as if there are parts of this forum seems to be old and dusty.

hey dan :) the icon size is 20x20 and it will need to be uploaded by laura so probably best to PM it to her!

Descriptions are still on my list to do but a lot of important things around right now and being sick is NOT helping :(

We did go through each forum and unstick old irrelevant ones but some new sticky threads or merged ones are definitely needed!! I’ll bear it in mind when putting together a plan for the forum team which I’m doing over the next few weeeks when I finally shake this cold!!
