User ranks proposal

Hi everyone!

Following a very interesting discussion in a previous thread with (mainly) @GoldenMerc (https://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=26925); @Neversoft (https://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=14600); @-:Undertaker:- (https://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=24233); and @FlyingJesus (https://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=24753); I've been having a review of our user ranks process.

Currently we have a precious metals/stones system, then we have one BIG rank which is Habbox God


This is the system for those interested:

Gold Member (1 star): 0-5 posts
Gold Member (2 stars): 5-250 posts
Gold Member (3 stars): 250-500 posts
Gold Member (4 stars): 500-750 posts
Ruby Member (1 star): 750-1000 posts
Ruby Member (2 stars): 1000-1375
Ruby Member (3 stars): 1375- 1750
Ruby Member (4 stars): 1750-2125
Sapphire Member (1 star): 2125-2500
Sapphire Member (2 stars): 2500-3125
Sapphire Member (3 stars): 3125-4375
Sapphire Member (4 stars): 4375-5000
Emerald Member (1 star): 5000-6250
Emerald Member (2 stars): 6250-7500
Emerald Member (3 stars): 7500-8750
Emerald Member (4 stars): 8750-10000
Platinum Member (1 star): 1000-12500
Platinum Member (2 stars): 12500-15000
Platinum Member (3 stars): 15000-17500
Platinum Member (4 stars): 17500-20000
Habbox God: 20000 posts OR 10 years on forum + 5000 posts

From a personal perspective it's an actual nightmare to manage - they all have their own usergroups and when someone becomes staff we have to put them into "Habbox Staff - Sapphire Member" etc and it gets very confusing.

I'd love to revert these all to one ADMINISTRATIVE usergroup with several ranks inside, then expanding the top ones. My proposal is as follows:

0-5: Newbie - Lifebuoy
0-50: Supporter - Plus
50-100: L337 - Joystick
100-200: Follower - Arrow
200-300: Fanatic - Microphone
300-400: Devotee - Red drink
400-500: Honorable - sunflower
500-600: Groupie - rose
600-700: Enthusiast - key
700-800: Aficiondao - lightning bolt
800-900: Addict - firework
900-1000: Star - Star
1000-1500: Respected - thumbs up
1500-2000: Appreciated - medal
2000-3000: Honoured - police badge
3000-4000: Loved - Heart
4000-5000: Admired - gift
5000-6000: Adored - 2 hearts
6000-7000: Famous - film board
7000-8000: Exalted - trophy
8000-9000: Worshipped - diamond
9000-10000: Idol - diamond ring
10000-12000: Habbox Royalty - crown
12000-14000: Habbox Veteran - greek wreath
14000-16000: Habbox Resident - hotel icon
16000-18000: Habbox Master - uni hat
18000-20000: Habbox Elite - ancients logo
20000-22500: HABBOX GOD (already exists). AT THIS POINT YOU GET CUTE GOLD VIP x
22500-25000: Habbox Champion
25000-27500: Habbox Colossus
27500-30000: Habbox Titan
30000+: Habbox Legend



What do you think of these titles? Do you think I should replace them with others? Let me know below :)

I’m hoping this can also be used to encourage posting if you’re getting ranks. Maybe announcements of latest ranks reached, competition to get to a certain point in a certain time etc. I’ve kept the low ones quite close toghether deliberately!

Too many titles. Isn't that much more of a work? But tbh, I'm fine with that but like someone pointed out, Habbox God should really be the highest rank if you really going with what you have there.

No they’re all automated.

I’m not willing to demote the current Habbox Gods but we do need some ranks above them!!

I agree with not changing completely from what we have regarding the position of Habbox God. It's better to build on what you have in order to preserve, even if it doesn't totally make sense - just look at the British constitution. ;)

We have this in top posters of the month - top 10 posters get tokens.

Credit rewards up to 500 posts? You need more encouragement for the new forum members imo

Unfortunately I can’t afford much more than we already offer so credit prizes are out of the question. We have great rewards for new new members if they are active on their first month, plus if insidivuals post loads they also get big prizes!

Probably because you signed up in 2005.. don't know what incentives there were (if anything) back then. It's been in place here for 2-3 years. Other managers have got more than enough to fund - we've tried effectively paying to post and having credsits in sho and it's actually not that effective!

unfortunately 'new member' counts by sign up date not first post/returning date, just the way the usergroups work.

I've always thought the requirements for Habbox God were far too low. I'll concede that I'll never become a Habbox God again if it were based solely on post count but I think this is a good idea :).

Habbox God and one of the other upper ranks will be the same - 5k posts and 10 years or 10k posts and 15 years for whichever upper rank. The upper rank will also have a different special username colour, don't know fully what yet though. Still very limited edition though!

No, just the two like I said in my post. God stays EXACTLY as it is right now (i've been very clear from the start I'm not interested in demoting anyone or changing requirements), then one more for 15 years and 10k posts - which obviously noone qualifies for yet.

I still think the requirement for Habbox God is too low, maybe 10 years and 10k posts? 15 years and 15k posts? Although some will need to be demoted. I'm actually cool doing it on post count alone :P I just know that some of the post count targets are not achievable for me :P

People with 10 years, plus 5k posts, plus are still active (they have to request it, it’s not automated) is very small percentage.

But yes more people qualify which is why we’re expanding upwards!

People who qualify for Habbox God on above, PLUS have been active within 24 months: 66

Ahhhhhhhhhhh I just realised you have to set up usergroups to have individual usertitles god DAMN ok

two options:

1) they're all in one usergroup so default people e.g. will show like this (except for Gold Member will display as... Habboxer)

Down for the sparkle/shine effect! Adding up any type of animated element into the highest ranks would express its value visually more rather than """just""" a gradient color change (which's clever, we can't tell a lie!)

What's the Fanatic icon mean??

Ultra-personal and disposable thought but "materialistic" things in a certain way feels more interesting as icons in this case rather than "universal symbols", the arrow and "+" ones look drab, not matching with all the rest shows

Forum ranks built like that is SO deliciously old-fashioned and will make us to wonder how we spent this whole time developing our posting status with little stars and nothing else!

What's the Fanatic icon mean??

Ultra-personal and disposable thought but "materialistic" things in a certain way feels more interesting as icons in this case rather than "universal symbols", the arrow and "+" ones look drab, not matching with all the rest shows

Forum ranks built like that is SO deliciously old-fashioned and will make us to wonder how we spent this whole time developing our posting status with little stars and nothing else!

I agree about the arrow and plus sign really. I have a cog icon I could use for supporter, I wanted follower to literally be like following someone which is why I went for arrow? Maybe a different kind of arrow would be better. Will have a look!

Which ones don’t you like? I’m happy to think about replacements!

It’s going to take a while to put them all in. I will try to do it before the weekend but I’m out 3 days this week for work events so I may not be able to!! Definitely by weekend though :)

Fanatic is a flag like waving a flag in support
Honourable is a champagne bottle (to fit with the champagne glass a couple earlier), like you’ve won a comp and get a bottle
Enthusiast is a rose like you’ve been given a rose cos you’re really enthusiastic about it
Addict is a firework like you’re about to explode

In all honesty I’d happily replace any if you have any ideas, it was quite hard making icons that match the words, and they’re TINY too which is added difficulty!!

Changed the display usergroup for you :P. Not sure how to get rid of your elite userbar (when it was gold, ruby etc. we had them on the lists of usergroups, but we don't have the new ones on). It's probably because you're under 20000 and that's how that specific userbar [elite] is calculated. I've set your display/primary usergroup to God though so that's on again now (paused your VIP as well).

Oh yeah, I remember now from the invalid subscriptions PM :D. Also, Habbox God/Legend are separate usergroups to posting scheme, I think you just tick more than one but you could always set primary one as Posting Scheme and display one as Habbox God. Not sure if that would work, but I'm sure Chris/Neversoft is in both.

look I know I’m being a bit more aggro than I usually am about this I’m just kinda fed up of trying my ducking hardest to make things easier and better for the WHOLE community and just constantly being torn down by a few members

I got VIP and it mixed up my permissions, is all. I was just posting to try have it reverted, but whatever I was set at before seemed to be a special case, because I really did only have one userbar.
