View Full Version : do you still text?
do you still text people or do you stick to apps like whatsapp or messenger?
i still text like 1-2 people cos i don't have them on social media and i text my boss and colleagues. i hate the fact that i have to turn on my internet just to contact someone when it's much less hassle to text :((( lmao

I still do. But mostly if the other person texts me. No particular reason. Just I think, we treat the message box like another apps XD lol

I basically only text. I've never downloaded WhatsApp and I don't have Facebook. Sometimes I message on Instagram and I used to on Twitter, but I find it's a lot more straightforward to just text somebody.

I never had WhatsApp until I started going out with my current boyfriend in February 2016, I didn't even know what it was to be honest lmao. I only really text my mum and dad, occasionally my sister, and my boyfriend if his internet is playing up or vice versa.

I text my parents and colleagues because I don't have them on social media. People I have on social media I usually text if its important or urgent but if its not I use Messenger. That's the only messaging app I use though.
I much prefer texting to calling though! I don't live with my phone next to me all the time so I hate when people call and leave a message instead of texting.

I usually use Messenger unless I have no internet or I don't have them on Facebook, otherwise I Whatsapp people outside of NZ that I don't have on Facebook. I basically don't use Facebook anymore just Messenger...

Do englishplain: Is "texting" limited to SMS and pagers only?? If so, the answer is no! In face, I don't know what it is to own a cell since a year ago, when I downloaded a super vanilla Android emulator which I've gotten as a way of receiving messages from my boss and nothing further than this. Gotta say I didn't learn to get used to the standard patterns of communication from these days and, sometimes, it can be quite repulsive, for many reasons. -Says the forums rat!!! AH and in around May my webfriend sent me a physical, long-awaited letter with a real gem inside! The first envelope I've been addressed to in my entire life that does not include bills or advertisement
I still text but I am using WhatsApp more and more :)

Text my mum and her friends because they're too old and scared of technology to know how to use WhatsApp and I don't have them on Messenger but anyone else I mostly use messenger, I'll use whatsapp sometimes too but it often doesn't occur to me? messenger is always my go to.

I text a lot, idk y I just prefer texting
Literally everything I do to communicate with people is generally over the internet these days. With my mum living abroad in Belize, we use WhatsApp to message eachother, and for everyday chatting I use FB Messenger or Snapchat for the fun/silly side of conversations. I think I maybe send 2-5 texts a month, and generally those are replying to my bank to confirm various things, or replying to my grandma who is still living in 1980 with her brick phone thats barely capable of functioning.
I think everyone else is generally the same and you can guess this just by what service providers are offering, it's all about the Data Plan these days when buying a phone contract. Minutes and Texts are generally always Unlimited, and if not, it's normally not even that much more expensive to go to Unlimited Texts and Calls due to the fact they know people hardly use them, I would much rather pay a lot less and get 0 Minutes and 0 Texts and Unlimited Data, and just call/text people through the likes of Facebook and Whatsapp etc..
