Watching it tonight..

Good thing about being a previous Cinema Manager is that I still get free film, and good job as well because after getting free cinema for the last 6 years, I don't think I could ever go back to paying, but luckily 99% of my friends still work at the cinema, so they just let me in for free

Will let you know what I thought in about 4 hours :)

Going to watch it this Thursday and can't wait. I love all HP movies tbh. So, pretty sure won't get disappointed one way or another :p

No spoilers btw

I saw it on Friday and I'm so confused about what is true and what is lies - like has JK made up new canon or is Grindelwald just lying about stuff. It also felt like a bit of a slow 'we need to set down some plot lines for future films' type movie similar to Deathly Hallows Part One. Either way, I did enjoy it and it was cool to see heaps new beasts!

I agree so much with Sloths!

I just watched it. And I find that this franchise is not gonna die anytime sooner. Cause of the ending is just a set of the beginning. I do however wish a lot more beasts and magical creatures being featured. I love them so much <3

Well they announced months and months ago that there's going to be 5 films in the series so we still have 3 left at least!

Just to point out Grindelwald is also alive in the Harry Potter era, he’s killed by Voldemort in the Deathly Hallows

I haven't watched yet but will.

The franchise is OK but some of then actors annoy me, such as Tranny Redmayne and the freakzoid Ezra Miller. Also, whenever I see Johnny Depp in anything I just think it's Jack Sparrow. It also irks me how the characters look nothing like they do in Harry Potter - PLEASE tell me Jude Law has at least tried to mimic Michael Gambon's Irish-British accent? Edit: OMG he's talking with a full on English accent in it, absolutely ridiculous!

I'm sorry but the lack of connectivity annoys me. It's like when Professor Lupin inexplicably changed appearance.

Also the CGI stuff is naff! Bring back props!

I haven't seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but FB 2 looks really good. I want to see this one, but do I need to see the first one, first??

See the first one first! You'll miss some great infos if you just jump to the second. Though you can still do that, but yeah.

you'll have to watch first for sure cos it sets story up and introduces new concepts

I'm just hoping that the next film just tries to iron out some of the big cliffhangers from this film. I enjoyed it but had so many questions leaving the cinema.

I thought it was terrifically average. Many of the interactions seemed artificial — it just didn't come across as a fluid or competent story, to me. I also find it hard to get at all excited by the villain when there's just no way he can live up to Voldemort. Ralph Fiennes was brilliant in that role, but thus far Johnny Depp doesn't have much of a presence. That Chinese dragon creature was cool, though. I rolled my eyes a bit when it roared towards the camera... That's always a bit cheesy, but it had an interesting design.
