I do not have a routine, I get up for work about 9.30am every day, I start at 11:30am.
I have got into the bad habit of sleeping at about 3pm when I finish work, then it gets to 1am and I am wide awake.
I need help. Do you have a routine?

I usually go to bed not more than 10pm. So by 11pm, I would be asleep. I think it's a good cycle.

I work shift pattern. When you are full time in that world there is no such thing as a sleeping pattern it is sleep whenever possible!
Ha routine. What is this foreign concept you speak of?
I have no routine at all, I normally go to bed between 10-midnight during the week if Im at work.. if I'm off then it's anyone's guess when I'll go to sleep

Wouldn't say thats half the day gone what you really missing going to bed at 12? if i don't have to be up for anything i still try to get up at 9am no matter what time i went to sleep cos if i don't then im likely going to struggle to sleep next night. I have been getting really stressed with college lately i just end up not being to sleep at all and just going to college on no sleep.
But if your just struggling to get to sleep i can suggest some stuff to help as it were pretty much all my therapist did with me.

Need to have a routine so like having a bath or something and also not to use your bed for anything but sleep, your bed should only be used at night to sleep so your body knows that when your in bed its time for sleep.

I never thought about this type of thing.
I recently bought my own house, but have spent the last 26 years living in my bedroom, so I'm used to watching TV in my room, eating in my room (Whilst I watch TV) and obviously my PC in my room.. It's a hard habit to get out of, so even though I now have a whole house to myself, I never use my dining room or lounge, it's redundant space at the moment, unless I have friends over.
Maybe I should try harder to use those spaces so that maybe I'll have a better night sleep.

At the moment my sleeping pattern/routine isn't the best. My shifts at work are 2pm-10pm, and when I get home I need to wind down before I attempt to go to bed. In some cases, I've been trying to sleep, but haven't dropped off until around 4am, but when I go to bed early I have trouble sleeping as well. Luckily, I can manage to get up earlier if I need to - for example I worked 12-8 this Saturday instead of 2-10 and started at 7 on Sunday (got no sleep), but it was fine. The job is fairly new so hopefully I get into a better routine in the future.
