India and Pakistan on the verge of war
Skirmishes around the Radcliffe Line border are escalating

Amazed how little coverage this has had in the media over last two days or so, people often look at North Korea and other examples but this spot concerning Kashmir/the Punjab is where nuclear war is most likely to break out. Ever since the end of the British Raj in 1947, when the Radcliffe Line was established, there's been exchanges on the border.
Since the 1970s India and Pakistan, sworn enemies, became nuclear powers. And in 1999 when there were border skirmishes it [the conflict] very nearly did go nuclear. That time, Pakistan stood down.
