Sounds a strange question this, but me and my friends were saying this today.. how do you cook?

So for me right, literally everything is in a pan or frying pan. My flat had a microwave when I moved in, and I unplugged it and stuck it in a spare wardrobe because I literally can't stand microwaves. Hate them. I have an oven but I have probably used it maybe 3 times since August 2018 - not keen on ovens either.

I just find a frying pan or pan easiest and quickest. But I *always* use olive oil to cook with.

How about you?

I confuse my housemate because she likes to cook exactly following a recipe, whereas I've spent the last 2 and a half years working in a kitchen and so have just learned to chuck stuff I know will be tasty in a pan and cook it til it's done. Don't think I ever really measure anything except rice & the water to cook it in.

I normally cook in a pan too because i feel super guilty about turning the oven on. it's really expensive and it always seems like such a waste? So try not to do it too often.

Oven about 70% of the time, pan about 25% of the time, microwave 5%ish?

I mostly cook dinner in oven/pan, and if I have scrambled egg then microwave.

You are like my Aunty, exactly what she does haha. Makes her own from just whatever she has.

I'm a bit like that, like I laugh when it is supposed to be like 2 gloves of garlic - and I put in like 4.

Recipes are such cowards when it comes to garlic

does anyone meal prep by any chance?

I mentioned it for agessss but only ever got round to actually meal prepping chicken fried rice, then done for that like a year...

I finally want to actually do it properly and have a varied diet instead of chicken and potato every day :')

from next Sunday I'm going to start meal prepping that weeks dinners (Mon-Thur), then weekend I'll just have whatever (alternatively could meal prep on a Fri night for the weekend, if I can be bothered).

my diet has gotten so bad lately though as I was eating healthy for like a year then I started going out for meals every week and eating buffets and crap.. then baking stuff every week too (: put on 2kg over the last 5 months so I'm not happy and need to get it sorted again (as well as upping my exercise from 3 days a week now that I have more time again), going to limit myself to 1 meal out a month but that won't be hard as I don't have to go out on date nights anymore and similarly won't be baking, profit!!

get a slow cooker. do it all the night before, throw it in and put on low... be ready when you come home.

tbh i may buy one here, you can get 'em for like £18

i'm not a fan of leaving stuff on when I'm not in though

Usually use the ActiFry or the Halogen Oven, we have a gas hob which I'll do anything else on that can't be cooked in them (proper oven for a pizza). I want to say it's very rare I'll use a microwave unless it's a ready meal which I don't eat often.
