Disney launching new streaming service

So for those of you who are OUT OF THE LOOP Disney announced today that they are launching their own streaming service to RIVAL netflix and amazon etc:


Disney Plus is Disney’s answer to Netflix, a comprehensive streaming platform featuring all the shows and films the company has produced since the 1930s.

It will feature previous shows and films, as well as new content exclusive only to Disney Plus.


The service will have five hubs focusing on the major franchises owned by Disney, such as Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.

It will be launching in the US from November 12 - and knowing Disney I would expect them to launch intl pretty quickly

It's only $6.99 to start (hopefully like £5 in UK then here's hoping) which is insanely good price considering they will have marvel, star wars, fox shows (all the simpsons hello??), and they also own Hulu which has been stalling their international expansion for years

this is actually a streaming service i would CONSIDER paying for

what do you think? will you be buying disney+?

I think I’m probably going to try it at least for a few months (assuming we get it down here) just for the marvel and classic disney movies alone

I have heard they were doing this. I am amazed they will have the Simpsons on it. I would be tempted to get it, as I love disney after all!

Does anyone have it at the moment? Or is it not 100% live yet?

I used to watch Disney movies on Netflix but since Disney has pulled contracts with them and they will be cheaper, you bet i'm paying for it. I even pre-ordered my subscription.
