Best holiday destination

My friends & I are planning our 2020 holiday but can't seem to pick a place to go to. Instead we're all going to pick one place to go to and we'll have to debate why ours is the best and we'll pick one out of the 6 places.
Where is the best place you've been on holiday? Why?

Depends what sort of holiday you're after..

Personally I LOVED the Maldives.. it's expensive as a holiday destination but it's super stunning there and Def worth putting on your bucket list.

Our favourite holiday destination is Greece. My favourite holiday was a Nile cruise in Egypt.

I like adventure/really different places and the best place I have ever been was Bombay, India. We went for a week and stayed in a 5-star hotel with a rooftop pool and that coupled with return flights came to £350 each. In addition, expenses there are unreal - you can get a full curry meal for £1, snacks for 20p and there's a growing nightlife in the city. For trips outside of the city - although the national park on the outskirts is great and free - we visited a place called Matheran that had stunning views which I will post below. The rail ticket there (1st class) cost us 75p for a rail journey that was a few hours in length.

Alternatively if India seems "too much" a more quiet and 'relaxing' holiday I would recommend that is broadly similar is Hikkaduwa in Sri Lanka.

Basically these holidays are adventure, out of the ordinary and you can easily do a week (with multiple nights out and trips) for £500 per person.

One of my great holidays was going to Cyprus cause I went their when I was like really young and I would love to go back there in the future at some point to have a another holiday.

Well the time of this thread didn't age well... thanks to COVID.

Anyway, I have been to Disneyland Pairs, Pairs and Romania - never had any issues :)

I would say that my best holiday destination would have to of been New York City. Absolutely loved it and it was everything that I dreamed of. Would love to go back and explore more of the city and do less of the touristy stuff. :)

yeah i always think when i eventually get round to going to NYC i'd wanna explore the hipster areas like Queens, Harlem and Brooklyn more

For me is:

expensive - ish: Florida. Just an amazing place to go

Cheap place: Santa Ponsa, Majorca. Just love it there
