View Full Version : Lockdown Housework
Have any of you kept on top of your housework during lockdown?
I seem to have slacked! I normally do my housework either Friday evening, or Saturday afternoon, however since the lockdown I think I've picked up the hoover/duster like twice lmao.
How about you, or have you lot got better due to boredom?

ish.
I'll usually do housework before gf comes over but slacked a bit with that as no-ones coming to my house, but I still do it generally once a week.
I'm still waiting for boredom to hit me, I'm keeping busy with work/overtime/tv/speaking to people atm
I've managed to evade boredom quite a lot. I go through random patches of being bored, but they generally only last 10-15 minutes until I find something to do...
But I honestly think I've not been bored because I know when I'm bored it's then time to stop procrastinating and start doing chores or other such work I don't want to do, which as a result, I end up finding something to do that I otherwise wouldn't find entertaining, but when it's out of that or housework/chores, I subliminally come to the conclusion that this is the best thing I've done all week lol

I try to do at least an hour of it a day, whether it be vacuuming, cleaning out the tub, or something like that. I can't stand a dirty house!!
an hour a day!? I'm barely doing that a week lmao.
Either you be living in a stupidly large house, or you'll be able to eat food from your kitchen floor lol

both, when we first moved into this house I spent two weeks deep cleaning every single room from top to bottom.

Only live in a small student flat but have probs done more than I usually do! More regular hoovering and cleaning of kitchen/bathrooms and today I organised my wardrobe, draws, shelves etc while my laundry was on! :)

My house is pretty clean and dandy, hoover up every 2-3 days, wash my plates/mugs once used..
I've mainly been lounging around in my garden with a few beers or my computer recording new radio shows & snizzle, bored as hell but wouldn't turn to cleaning too much. Might sort my garden out tomorrow, the plant's are abit bushy/dead.

Yup! But doing less than I usually do because I'm working from home now, and also have the kids home making mess while I am trying to clean lol. I hoover 2-3 times a day, constantly tidying, clean the kitchen and bathroom every day, 2 washing loads a day..
Busy busy busy.

i have;
- cleaned the shed roof
- mowed the lawn 3 times
- painted 9 trellis fences
- removed ivy from a wall and fences
- tidied up the plant pots
- transplanted x3 plum trees
- moved hundreds of bulbs/plants
- weeded front borders and back borders
- covered the borders in tonnes of wood chipping
- trimmed virginia creeper on front of house
- raised the crown of a silver birch tree
- wood chipped many branches
- staked some roses
- sanded down front gate and treated it with rust stabiliser
- painted render on back the house
- moved around 50 bricks to define border areas
probably spent an estimate of 100 to 120 hours on garden in last month so far.
and still got more to go with jet washing, staining and painting.

Ngl, totally read that wrong..
Damn you've been busy!
How the hell did you manage to mow the lawn 3 times? I haven't even done mine this lockdown yet, you got some super speedy growing grass where you live? lol

cos green bins have stopped i decided i'd do it every weekend without the box on so the grass just disappears/rots instead of having a big mound of the stuff in a few weeks and not having anywhere to put it.
and yeah very busy, done my nans and my auntys front gardens too.
Ah makes sense, I have a compost bin in the edge of my garden, so I should be alright. I did read something about green bins but I ignored it because I don't use the green bin that much.
I suppose it's nice enough weather to be gardening outside... for the UK anyway... Aren't you used to spain's nice and warm weather, or have you managed to climatised now?

Sectional; it isn't too different in Britain atm to Spain weather wise tbh
i'm cold in Spain too tbh, i need like 30C+ to be comfortable
Oh, assumed their nice sunny weather came a lot earlier than ours.. We're only just starting to get mildly warm, aside from the odd random day here and there (like Monday I think, where it was 18c)
I'm the same though, need 30c+ - My mum lives in Belize and it's always hot over there, so when she comes back to the UK in the summer, it'll be like 22c here and she'll literally have goosebumps because for her it's cold lol.
It's pretty amazing how fast you can acclimate to weather, as when I went to visit her a year ago, I was sitting outside at night, it was about 24c, but I was cold, and I had to keep telling my body that it's stupid and it's wrong, it's hot. lol

That's easy to combat, pay a gardener and they'll take the waste away with them.
You in Scotland any time soon? my garden could do with some work

I relate
I'll be getting a cleaner soon, was planning to at the start of the year, but decided to focus on saving money for new house instead, but once I done that and got to a comfortable amount, this #rona (https://www.habboxforum.com/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=rona) hit sadly.
