View Full Version : Words you can never spell
I don't know about you, but there are a few words that I can never spell, no matter how many times I use it, I forget how to spell it, mainly because I'm lazy, or I don't use the word often enough to care.
For me, I can never spell these words.
definitely - I always spell it definetley
guarantee - I spell this guarentee or gaurentee
volunteer - I always spell it volenteer
calendar - I sometimes spell this calender
Then other days I'm sitting here thinking how to spell "the" because my brain decides to go on vacation.

generally been ok with spelling for the most part. usually if i cant spell something i can just look it up and then usually have no issue beyond that. one word that did take a while though is diarrhoea

took me a lot longer than I care to admit to realise where the mistake was there

When Im drunk its almost impossible!!
So that's most of the time then? ;)
- I pretty much am rubbish at the English language when it comes to spelling, I use spell-checker and google pretty much everyime for most of the simplest words!

I always have to double and triple check when I spell "necessary", it's always hard for me to remember how many c's and s'.
On another note, I would forget how to spell Wednesday probably if I didn't speak "Wed-nes-day" in my head every time I spelled it.

The way I remember how to spell necessary is 'one collar two socks' (one c two s) Idk why that always just stuck with me hahaha
I'm not too bad with spelling, there's no words that come to mind rn that I always struggle with

That's honestly a great way to do that. I normally just type it whatever comes to mind first and see if it auto corrects or not :P

Hard to answer because I never speak English in my real life... I do not have to!! The commonplace occasions from the day-to-day sometimes do allow some 'YES', 'Thanks' or 'wtf' to happen out of the blue but don't ask me to pronounce squirrel

I find that spelling habits when writing things with a some kind of pen is different to typing, but considering that I type most of the time instead of write I find that
Occassionally gets me every time, it's occasionally but you know.
Receive used to be a really terrible one for me between putting the e and the i the other way around all the time!
I know how to spell these words but it's getting out of those habits of adding double letters in places they shouldn't be!
