What is the best ad blocker (A few questions)

I have a mac book Air I would like to know.

1. How to stop adverts coming up whilst using safari.
2. Change my search engine to google

I use an add on called "AdBlock" - I believe you can get it on Safari - it is the best one I've ever owed and blocks 99% of ads, works very well on Youtube.

To change your default search on Safari follow these steps (stolen from Google):

Step 1: Open Preferences. Click on Safari in the top Apple menu, and then select Preferences.
Step 2: Change your default search engine to Google. Next to Default search engine, click on the drop down menu and select Google.
Step 3: Change your homepage to Google.

You can also highlight ads it missed so it'll block those in future too

I want to block youtube ads as well, I hate them! (Glad I get get a good ad blocker for this)
