This may seem a strange post given the situation this year but....
I was feeling a bit sorry for myself like oh i've not had any holidays this year how sad but then I thought well hang on I sorta have been lucky in that i've had little trips away from where I live/work which I guess you could count as holidays. So I wondered, what trips/holidays have you managed to take this year?
For me, I have had:
- x1 trip to Newcastle for a weekend with a friend
- x1 trip to Madrid by accident alone
- x3 trips to Seville on weekends with family/friends/alone
- x1 trip to Cordoba this coming 4-day weekend alone
So not the same as proper holidays but still better than nothing isn't it. How about you?

I went to Southampton the weekend before lockdown happened to see a friend. That's probably going to be it for this year!!
Normally I'd visit Leeds at least twice to see my best friend but won't be able to. Double annoying as he's just bought a house and I'd love to see it :( :(

I went to the Gold Coast at the start of February for the Eurovision Australia national finale, that was just before cases started to appear here.
I never count any trips in the UK as a holiday personally.. so I've not been on holiday at all this year.. been away on a few trips but no where special..
Also how did you manage to accidentally go to Madrid lol

I have not went on any trips this year, unfortunately! :( I've been stuck in my area all this time. Normally my family and I go to Green Bay each summer for vacation, but we weren't able to this year, so I'll probably be stuck here for the rest of the year too, especially now that it's Winter and it's been snowing a lot.

I had a connecting flight from Madrid and the fools at airport made me miss my first flight... so had to spent a day in Madrid. Quite happy tbh I finally got to see it quickly!

I live about 30 mins away from Southampton - I hate it, what did you do there? Just explore its two malls? :P
- For me I took a trip to the Isle of Wight (Yay). Other than that my last actual holiday was in 2018 lol. Help.

Oh that's pretty cool, a bit of serendipity.
I assume you can speak Spanish?

I can't, no. Can't get lessons here + suffered depression quite badly so never learnt the lingo.
I can understand a bit though, hopefully if I am living in a big city next year/therapy completed I can get cracking on it again.
Tbh like in the street if I stop someone who can't speak a word of English, I can converse enough with them to ask where things are etc.

was due to go thorpe park on 30th and 31st october for the halloween fright nights, was staying over in a hotel
ended up coming down with covid symptoms on the monday, by the thursday, day before we was going, it got really bad... had to cancel the trip, tested positive on the saturday
I was meant to be going to like 10 countries this year, including China in March.. obviously none of that happened. I went to Scotland twice, once for work and another for a short break.

Haven’t left the UK in 2020 due to obvious reasons so just done day trips out and about in Scotland when restrictions have allowed to. Can’t wait to get away somewhere once things get back to normal! :)

Managed a trip to Leeds for mine and my bf's anniversary in February!
Went to Skegness around March time and managed to do a big train journey on my own for the first time (around 3 hours there and 3 trains, one delayed so probably took 3 1/2 hours). This was just before the pandemic properly took hold. Also managed to go to Skegness in August, then again in September and October I think (we have our own caravan, we weren't staying in hotels.) Two times we took a detour and went to Taco Bell, but this was all when lockdown rules were lifted.
I think that's pretty much it for the year. Had a holiday cancelled and rescheduled for this year, but I'm not sure if it'll go ahead this year either.
