I got 29/48 (60%)

I can remember most of the North and the South... its the Midlands that gets me.

18/48 I spent too long getting mad it wasn't accepting Yorkshire (the best county) but then realised it had it as south, north, east, west

I did same with Sussex.

I got a lot more just by thinking of current/past royal and non-royal Dukedoms and their territorial designations.

29/48 it would have been 30 but I spelt Wight wrong and didn't think to retry it.
